What a nice man, and he is the one who mined the opal and made the beautiful necklace that we purchased for my wife. We would highly recommend you got to this shop before you go to any of the other shops.

GO HERE BEFORE ANY OTHER JEWELRY AND SOUVENIR SHOP IN TOWN.This guy is the real deal, NOT some 'sponsored' '70% off' huckster like the guys down by the dock. One of the most honest and down-to-earth jewelers I've ever spoken to. Visit yourself to see the giant opals his family mined themselves!this is not a paid review I just get really hyped up by good business practices ?

Fantastic local shop with the owner who makes all his own jewelry and artwork. He made the fountain in this photo as well as opal whale fluke jewelry. Super friendly and clever guy with hilarious sayings around the store.

We come here whenever we hit Ketchikan. It's not in the cruise line's set of paying advertisers so you have to find it for yourself. They have a wide range of opals at prices from $50 to $2,000. They freely admit the necklace chains are cheap junk, but the opals are very good. They mine the opal in Australia then sell them in various cruise ports.
