This resort was fabulous. The views from the rooms are unbelievable. They run a great fishing charter business from their own private dock. Captain Leigh put us on the fish and did a great job. The rooms are fairly basic but you’re never in them. The waterfall on property is stunning and the bears come down every day for a snack. A little far from town but they have a shuttle and the floatplane company dropped us off on the dock. Will be back!

Didn't stay here but arrived daily for chartered fishing trips. The breakfast was well displayed and plentiful. The views are breathtaking. The servers, which are all seasonal, love their jobs and are very pleasant, fun, and provide great service. The salmon down by the falls and in the water are fun to watch. There is also a bear that comes out to eat once or twice a day.

Had dinner here while in Alaska fishing. The restaurant is very upscale while still casual dress. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was just as good. I had a halibut Thai curry dish that I would absolutely order again.

We had the most fun at Salmon Falls. The staff were all very friendly. Fishing was amazing. We brought home 50 pounds of halibut and salmon filets after two days of fishing between my husband and I and we are very much beginners. Captain Derrek was so amazing making sure we learned the art of fishing and helped us every step of the way. On our fishing trip, we saw whales, dolphins, sea otter, eagles, sea lion, harbour seals, etc. the lodge was in the best location with waterfalls and great sunset. Food was amazing. We will be back for sure and will bring friends and family.Noteworthy details: Great food and great fishing resort. Everything is taken care for fishing!

Salmon Falls caused us to lose most of our vacation time on two different days. The hotel is out quite a ways (about 20-25 minute drive from town). We only had 24 hours to enjoy Ketchikan and got nearly no time to do anything due to the lack of communication and coordination on staff’s part, as well as not doing what they said they would do. On the first day, they agreed to pick us up at a set time at the ferry terminal and give us a ride downtown, then pick us up again later that evening. They arrived over an hour late and then told us that if they dropped us off downtown, they couldn’t pick us back up, although they had agreed ahead of time to do just that. They took us to the hotel where we were given a room that had no AC even though the reservation had said the room would have AC. The room was warm and if the window was open it was too loud to sleep because of the people partying at the bar/restaurant nearby. They agreed to take us downtown early the next morning to give us time to see the town for the day. The driver decided to leave early without us even though we were ready before the assigned time. No one else was available to take us for another 90 minutes. So we sat for all that time because the driver chose to leave before he had agreed. When someone did take us, the driver was very put out with having an extra 2 passengers. The staff who coordinated transportation didn’t seem to care that they made us wait over 60 minutes one day and over 90 minutes the next for our ride. There was no apology or gesture made to make things right. We ended up only having about 2 hours to enjoy Ketchikan instead of the 6-7 we could have because of their incompetence. I pointed this out to staff when we checked out and they could have cared less. Poor customer service, poor communication, poor choice of hotel.

Excellent experience with fishing and float plane ride. We could not have asked for better resort stay and out boat captain was excellent with our fishing trip, we limited out very quickly and had a fun time.

We stayed three nights at Salmon Fall July 14-17. The rooms are big and comfortable for a fishing lodge. But there is no AC and bad wifi. In contrast, he hotel staff and location is terrific. Very good. Our disappointment was the Timbers Restaurant. We had three mediocre dinners. I would skip the prime rib, braised short ribs and grilled pork chops. They were overcooked. Similarly, the breakfast buffet was awful. Low marks for the scrambled eggs, bacon and potatoes. In contrast, the omelet bar was good. Fish dinners were also good.

I get the short rib croquette ALL the time. So good. Best view in Ketchikan and lovely environment. Definitely worth going!

Amazing place, the staff is the nicest, and food was insane. Highly recommended to do fish and cook, the chef choices are always great and very creative. We were craving for halibut ceviche and the chef made it possible.Live music was also incredible, loved the last wild buffalo!

First time eating at the Salmon Falls Resort's restaurant today. I live in Mountain Point, at the southern tip of Ketchikan's island so this restaurant/resort is a ~40 min drive for me, thus I haven't had the opportunity until today. Location was very beautiful, ocean view on many seats.I had the shrimp and grits. It was very flavourful, and had some of the largest, meatiest shrimp I have ever eaten. I would guess they were locally sourced spot prawns. I take off one star due to a price that would be considered outrageous anywhere in the lower 48, but I guess we are not in the lower 48. Nevertheless, most of the time in Ketchikan you pay an exorbitant price, and get terrible food. This time, I paid an exorbitant price, but got really good food, so still a pretty good outcome when it comes to dining out in Ketchikan.I should mention they do give a small local discount if you live in Ketchikan, but still pretty expensive.

Make sure to order salad with light dressing otherwise it is more of a soup consistency. You can easily split appetizers, main course, and salads between 2 people. Portions are huge. The cheese soup is delicious. Make sure to ask for light salt on all dishes as they can be quite salty. Chef is willing to make changes to all dishes if asked. The desserts have too much stuff going on in them. They do have lemon sorbet and vanilla ice cream for desert, but it isn’t on the menu. I got root beer and vanilla ice cream to make a root beer float for dessert. The tour guide Tony for guided fishing is awesome and super knowledgeable. The rooms have a nice view of the ocean. The gym has a great view of the ocean. Would be nice to have an AC or screens on the windows so we can cool down the room. The rooms got hot at night.

Salmon Falls and particularly The Timbers Restaurant is my Go To for my birthday dinner. I just celebrated yesterday with friends and the entire evening was stellar. We started off with cocktails and you must try the Tipsy Spruce! It should be their signature cocktail for sure. Excellent, we all loved it. Moved on to fresh oysters for appetizers. A bit small but super tasty. I recommend the raw ones. Then our main course. We all ordered the Ribeye with fingerling potatoes. Oh my goodness....heaven. perfectly cooked, not one bite left on anyone's plate. Beautiful presentation, so incredibly lovely. Then finally dessert. We ordered both items and they were heavenly. The views are incomparable and there is live music that just adds to the experience. Wonderful wait staff also. I will choose this place every year for my special occasions! It deserves the very highest rating!!! I am a local and did not travel here or stay at the lodge so I cannot speak to that.

Except Ketchiken doesn’t have a lot of crowd even when the big liners are in. You might want to stay in the town for convenience. So they offer to drop and pick you up from airport, downtowns and trails which is very nice. The resort is basic, functional and clean with gorgeous unspoiled views. The rooms sorely need updating esp the bathroom. The lower floors can be a bit stifling which is where we were given a room due to the inability to open windows as it overlooks the busiest part of the resort. Avoid those if you can. The food is decent but the town has much better options. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and thats a plus.
