About King Salmon Visitor Center
The King Salmon Visitor Center is a nice and clean, though very small, place that serves as a key stop for visitors on their way to Katmai National Park and Brooks Camp. It is a convenient location to pick up all souvenirs and gifts, including cool shirts, awesome postcards, stickers, magnets, and other keepsakes. The center also has a sweet mammoth tusk on display. Visitors can get information about the local wildlife and stamp their National Parks Passport. The restrooms are clean. It can get very crowded, and there are no food or beverages available inside, but local restaurants outside offer dining with beautiful views, good pizza, drinks, and fun music. The journey to Brooks Camp is tricky and complicated, involving a flight to King Salmon and a seaplane connection. While the Brooks Camp visitor center also sells the same items, the King Salmon Visitor Center is a fantastic and sufficient place to prepare for the long daytrip. The people are friendly, and park rangers are available to speak with. It is a good place to visit for a quick stop to get souvenirs and information before continuing the adventure.

Great place to visit and learn more about King Salmon and Katmai. We met this retired man who works there, he is very educated and knowledgeable. We enjoyed his talk and pictures very much. Highly recommend to visit this place when you come to King Salmon!

Stop in and get some information about the local wildlife! And maybe grab a cool shirt or awesome postcards. They have a sweet mammoth tusk that a local fisherman found on the beach a few years back
