Murphy's Alaskan Inn is an older, no-frills motel offering basic accommodations at a bargain price. The rooms are small, older, and somewhat dingy, often in need of minor repairs. They lack modern amenities and sufficient plugs, with very thin walls that can make them noisy. While mostly clean, some rooms have issues like dirty carpets or hair in the shower. The beds can be uncomfortable. Temperature for all rooms is controlled from the front desk, which closes at night. Some guests have reported occasional pests like spiders or a mouse. Despite its shortcomings, many find it an acceptable place to stay to save money. The staff is consistently described as very friendly, accommodating, and nice. Its location is a major highlight, being great, safe, and a short walk to the center of town, positioned between downtown and the harbor. Some second-floor rooms offer perfect, unobstructed views of the bay. Coffee and tea are provided in the office. For a simple, budget-friendly place to sleep in a prime location, many guests would stay again.
Rooms were comfortable if a little dated. Very clean with coffee provided in the office.

The staff was very accommodating to our schedule needs. The room was fine for the price. The rooms are older without the number of plugs and some minor repairs were needed.
But it was very good for what we needed and I’d stay again anytime.
Thanks again

Just finished a two night stay here. Absolutely recommend one of the second floor rooms. Perfect unobstructed view of the bay. Room appeared freshly painted and was very clean and comfortable. Absolutely by no means upscale. But it was a great experience and a total bargain.
