We've were waiting on a shipment of parts to fix our dryer. The business who sent the parts, promised to send them FedEx, but they got sent USPS. We don't receive USPS at our home address (but FedEx does come to our home address). We waited and waited. No FedEx parts box, BUT one day a mysterious car drove up, dropped off a box, and left. It was a Soldotna Post Office employee. They had saved us more waiting for more parts to be sent instead of returning the undeliverable box back to "sender". That was SO kind! They didn't have to do that, but did...on they're own time. THANK YOU Soldotna Post Office!

Public service. The USPS has no competitor for local mail delivery. This should make any employee who works for USPS work diligently to provide the best customer service possible. Today the postmaster made that happen. She took ownership for her employees lack of service and corrected a wrong. I appreciate this immensely. I still have issue with the Kenai Parcel service however giving away my truck pistons, my duluth pants, my wifes birthday present. Someone with a box near mine is doing well.

The main guy who works our route is great. However when any other employee subs for him we have had multiple packages labeled as "delivered to mail box" and I will check the mail that day only to find an empty mailbox with no key. Any time we order a tool or anything of high value, it will say "delivered to front porch" and even when I'm home all day the package has never shown up. Some sticky fingers work for this place because I'll get Amazon boxes, opened, with kid items still in it but the adult items taken. There's no local number to contact. They take forever to respond to claims. I've had certified checks get placed in my mailbox twice now. They are an absolute mess. Never have issues with UPS or FedEx.

This post office can take 2 days to put a small package in a box or put the ready for pickup slip in your box. Mail trucked down from Anchorage that is delivered at 4:30am will not be available for pickup until the next day. This is extremely poor government management. Long wait times to pickup packages and unbelievably horrible wait times around the holidays. Kenai and Sterling are much better managed. Soldotna post office should be double the size and double the employees.

This review is not for the people that work here because they do a good job. However, the people they work for and the postal service as a whole, I really don't understand why anyone uses USPS. It's outdated and runs like government. It's easy to assume now a-days you'll wait an hour to pick a box up, which would be such an easy fix. I live 1/2 mile outside of where they will deliver. FEDEX and UPS both deliver extremely fast to my doorstep, why not have your delivery drivers deliver these boxes a little further, it would save hundreds of people a day from coming into the post office, I know I never want to go. I hope change is in the near future, but honestly Fedex and UPS have been much better for years.

Package was marked delivered in mailbox 12/7/21 past 8PM. I had checked the mail that evening, before 8, and received no mail key. Waited a couple of days, maybe they forgot. Went IN to the post office, they just took my number. Waited a few more days a caught the postal worker. She claims to be subbing in wherever, remembered the box with my name and DID NOT deliver it because it still says to FWD my mail in the mail box. (I'd filed a change of address in October and have been receiving mail and many packages at this point -especially due to the holidays) So she took it back, and was told it was OK to deliver to me. Then says she delivered my mail to the door on Friday or Saturday. I am a stay at home mom, I am home all day and never heard a knock. After having someone look at surveillance, come to find that there was no delivery to my door. Went back to the post office and, again, they just took down my phone number. Filed a claim and it was REJECTED because it had even marked "delivered". Apparantly that's all they have to do to get away with theft or negligence here. I'm still upset, it's been over a month and I'm out $100.

The clerks are not friendly and have an attitude a lot of the time as the customer is a bother. They never have enough staff working as lines can get long, especially durning the holidays. Waiting to mail packages can take an hour or more…..never that way in Kenai (and Kenai staff always helpful and courteous)……maybe Soldotna office can take some lessons from them. Also called before 9 AM as instructed, but got a recording saying basically the PO wasn’t taking calls, tried twice. And when I did get through and told, a woman identified herself as Penny, she basically called me a liar and said the phone was set to receive calls……….sorry it wasn’t, as my better half was sitting next to me and heard the automated message as well. This is the worst PO I know of, and I worked at one before. I’d leave no star if I could. They may want to take a community survey and see how the locals feel and improvements they can make.

I had quite a few packages to pick up. A man helped me and left out 1 pkg. So I went and waited in line again to tell him he did not give me all of my packages, it happens the lady clerk helped me the 2nd time, while she went back to look for the pkg. He told me he went down the aisle twice and it wasn't there. In under a minute she was back with my pkg. She was kind and helpful, lucky for me the man wasn't the person to help me twice because I would of been told it wasn't there.

Worst post office ever. They're just plain incompetent. Even the employees will agree with this and have on two occasions. Including acknowledging that they are incompetently managed! I feel bad for them actually. I consistently find Mail not belonging to me in our box and they lost a package of ours that cost $100 with medicine for our dog. Multiple other packages were either sent back to Amazon or almost sent back. Just awful! I'm afraid to order anything for fear we will never see it! Avoid if possible!!!

They gave us a box at a cluster box and send half of our stuff back because it’s “ An unknown location” it’s been over a year and they will not fix the issue.

been waiting on a package keeps claiming its not there when informed delivery and their automated machine says its at that post office since monday at 10am but cant seem to give me my package, either its missplaced or one of the employees stole it thanks for making a woman wait on something that she needs
