The property is very nice and the views of Denali NP are beautiful. I booked this stay 3 months ago and we were given a room next to the stairwell which was extremely noisy. We heard every person going up or down the stairs. When I told the manager, she offered to move us but we had already moved all of our luggage into the room. Simply put, not worth $400 per night. Glad we were only there for one night.

Yes this place is pretty, located in a beautiful area with trails, but this was the least favorite place we stayed on our trip to Interior Alaska.
The main hotel is on the 3rd floor. WiFi didn't work well here like most places we stayed out. Really wish there was some sort of breakfast provided because to eat here was extremely exorbitant.
I would research other places before staying here, but if you do stay here, utilize the shuttle service. It is probably the best we encountered on our trip and will help you save money eating in town

I do some occasional outside work on the grounds. I've never actually been inside the lodge. However, the veiws there on a clear day are amazing.

I’m honestly confused how this place has such incredible reviews. Yes, the view is amazing. The service is alright. The rooms are DISGUSTING (see attached photos). The first room we were given was so filthy we asked for a new room, only to find it was also very dirty. Layers of dust, dried blood on the duvet, hair in the sheets, hair and mold in the shower and bathroom, and dirt caked along the edge of the carpet. For a lodge that is supposedly a 4-star stay at over $400 a night, I would expect much more.
Rooms: Filthy and outdated.

No question…the location and views from the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge are excellent! I enjoyed the view from every angle…especially the back lawn and the provided view finders. We arrived a bit early for check in but completed a pre check in and were told we’d receive a text when our room would be ready so we headed downtown to Talkeetna. That text never came…even hours later. Once in our room I realized the need for some updating, better cleaning, more supportive mattress, better hallway/stairway insulation (you could hear every footstep). This was not a $400 per night experience. Again, we loved the view…we didn’t love the lack of quiet, and the dated East Wing facility. For dinner we chose the Base Camp Bistro & Bar. The hostess was less than friendly, complained they were full and the wait would be long and kinda rolled her eyes. Never did she suggest we try the Foraker Restaurant on campus and right around the corner. Once there we realized they too were busy (and very short staffed), put in our name, had a seat and relaxed while we awaited our turn. Once seated at our table we had a delicious dinner, and friendly conversation with our server from Croatia. While walking the campus of Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge I noticed none of the provided hand sanitizer stations were functioning. I reported that to the front desk and they replied…yes, we know they are empty. In hindsight I feel Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge caters to large groups instead of single families. The vibe was off! We definitely got a warmer welcome from the people in downtown Talkeetna.
Rooms: Need updated!!! Not super clean!!!

Wonderful stay at the lodge! The front desk staff was so sweet in accommodating me. 10/10 would recommend very conveniently located and easy to navigate. The property is very well maintenance like what a 5 start lodge would be
Rooms: The size of your typical hotel room! You have everything you need and the space as well. Perfect for an Alaskan getaway.
Walkability: Sidewalks actually makes sense and get you to where you need to go. Easy to navigate as well, and no steep hills or anything. Everything is easily accessible.

No hot water. They sent housekeeping to check before notifying maintenance. Rooms are pretty good except thermostat does nothing. You will want to open the one window that works even on September.
Rooms: Dated, but in decent repair. Only issue was we had no hot water and had to keep the window open to basic the temp.
Nearby activities: Definitely go down to the town. Easy walk or take the shuttle.
Walkability: The place has some nice paths around the hotel. Easy walk into town.
Food and drinks: The restaurant has good food. Prices are about what you’re works expect for a tourist location.

Room was furnished with a nearly empty toilet paper roll and tissue box. Had to hunt down a staff member in the hall at 7 am for these supplies. Oom temp emwas sr at over 80 degrees when we entered. It was still too hot several hours later with the heat turned off, fans on, and window open. Breakfast service was terrible. Finished eating breakfast before I was served coffee despite asking for it several times. Server apologized saying that they were short staffed. Another server handling other tables with coffee refused to serve me. Utensils did not include a spoon. Had to stir coffee with a knife. Not a happy experience!
Noteworthy details: Great views but that's all that was great.
