“Captain Joe's Gas Station was my Go-To place for just about everything I needed during my visit to Valdez. Not like Valdez is a big town, but Joe's is located in the center of it all. And, I believe it's the only gas station in Valdez. Joe's is conveniently open 24 hours and I stopped here each morning at 7am to grab a breakfast sandwich and hot chocolate. They have a terrific homemade popcorn machine that was perfect for a midday snack. Plus, I purchased all my little Valdez knickknack souvenirs like magnets, keychains and postcards inside. They offer public showers, restrooms and laundry machines for all the outdoor adventurers and campers. Joe's is situated right next door to a Safeway grocery market. So, if by chance I couldn't find anything I was looking for here, I just walked around the bend to Safeway. When gas prices were soaring throughout the USA for this past summer of 2022, Joe's was surprisingly reasonably priced at $4.50 a gallon. Other amenities at Joe's include... - Firewood - Diesel and Propane - Auto and RV supplies - Car Wash - automatic and oversize - Snacks, candy and soft drinks - Soft Serve Ice Cream and slushies - ATM machine - Ice machine It's not often you think of gas stations as being One-Stop-Shops for all your comforting necessities, but when you explore small towns around America, they can become reliable places that make your time and travels a whole lot easier. That's what I think you'll find here at Captain Joe's in Valdez, Alaska.”

“Well stocked convenience store, with the best priced souvenirs in town. There is also a laundromat in one corner of the building. We paid $10 to dump our camper tank and $5 to get potable water - during day, pay at RV park office, after hours, pay at gas station. Gas station also has propane for sale.”
