About Valdez Museum
The Valdez Museum is an excellent museum featuring a variety of historical exhibits and period displays. It covers so much history about Valdez, with a strong focus on the early history of Alaska, the 1964 earthquake and tsunami, and the Exxon Valdez oil spill disaster. The museum has interesting video testimonials and a free video to watch, along with cool historical items like old fire engines. It is very well done and worth checking out when visiting Valdez, with friendly staff. The admission includes the Old Town museum, and it is very much worth the walk from the pier.
