The was horrible when I returned our box, no questions asked why?? Maybe they already knew that had poor wifi service...and didn't want to ask while other people were in yhe store. But yes the wifi was down more than it was up so we cancelled the service!! Our starlink and MTA for the win!!

Gci has now outsourced their call center to India or similar and it is a very difficult language barrier. I’ve had to keep calling to find someone with the least thick accent… Phones shut off if your a day or two late on a payment, I’m now back with att.

GCI has been the worst company I have had the displeasure of dealing with. I have been out of the state for since October of 2022 and they are still trying to charge me monthly. I called and got their customer service line in OCT2022 and paid off all of my devices and had them cancel all my services because I was changing my network carrier. Since then they have sent me a bill almost every month. I have called over 10 times and talked with them and they still cant seem to figure it out. One time they told me that I never cancelled one of my phone lines and it was still active (even though it was already connected to my new cell carrier and I was already paying them a monthly) After that I was told "you have no more services or devices on your account and we will no longer be charging your card on file" I asked for that in an email so I had proof of that statement and was told "we can not do that because we don't have email address connected to GCI". Now I get a new bill and they are telling me one of my devices was never actually paid off. Even after all of this I still can not get ahold of anyone that actually works for GCI, their call center is sub contracted and they do not even for directly for GCI. This is incompetency at its finest. Would give them 0 stars if it was an option.

Recently switched to GCI from MTA and I have to say, their service exceeds expectations! The sign up process in the office was smooth and quick. Their technician arrived exactly when expected. He was very polite and professional! Despite having to do all the work of running a line to the house, he still did it quickly and with a smile. Such a great job and I would highly recommend GCI for your internet needs!

Four trips back and forth from Sutton to Wasilla to get it right. I tell him I have USB and he says all devices including my old computer has USBC. Not. I went to Charter College to study Electronics because they're unmarked satellite dish was in the parking lot and we all thought it was a classroom. 2 years of Charter College and the GCI said don't call us we'll call you when I try to apply for a job, and they put their name on their dish, our classroom that wasn't. Charter College moved from the C Street Business Park to Lake Otis and Northern Lights canceling the electronics class. I didn't qualify to work there and look who they've got. He warned me my data I wouldn't transfer to the new phone. It didn't matter to me if it did or it didn't but it did transfer. I'm just bitter bitter bitter for many reasons. But they're not fake as fake as AT&T. Like Singer sewing machines just a name. I understand why they bought Alaskcom, and like all their sneaky buyouts recreating AT&T, the reason for their buying of Alaskcom wasn't their love for Alaska but the subsidies and access tariffs, their big Earth stations obsolete, abandoning the Alaska Market except for the dense cities, GCI has spent fortunes bringing ground base fiber and radio backbone, all the way to Kotzebue with service that's very expensive for people with whose job is to live off the land and barter with Limited employment opportunities. After all of that investment, hundreds of millions of dollars, Arctic cables and a myriad of satellites are bringing a cornucopia of low-cost options making the fiber seem as redundant as AT&T's old Earth dishes. Not the same company when you had to dial 16 digits before you made a call with your calling card, GCI was created as the Alaska version of MCI, the first to challenge AT&T and the Bell System and Monopoly. Once AT&T broke up that was the end of Ernestine, a professional that understood every operation, including those at Edgar J's. No doubt she was the operator that took Forrest Gump's call reporting the flashlights at the Watergate Hotel. Lily Tomlin. If you don't know check it out. That's how old I am. It's just that I miss the professionalism that came with a wall phone. And it worked when the power went out.

Everyone read. I have used MTA at many locations for 15 years. GCI is better on every single level. The billing process is extremely simpler at GCI. The speed of internet is extremely better at GCI. The quality of people who work at GCI is absolutely top notch. MTA personally ranks with me as the single worst company I have ever had to deal with. I wish I would have switched a long time ago. Thank you GCI for being so amazing!

Store manager Pam,I got your letter in the mail today. I have looked over your letter as seen attached and came to the conclusion that it just wasn’t personal enough. It’s almost like you copied and pasted this and sent it to everyone. As a respectable customer for an establishment of yourself, The letter should have been more personal. I would give you a 4 star rating but as for the last 3 years your Internet is like this letter. Lacking…. Let us all remind are selfs that we are here on this review solely based on the letter I reviewed today. I’ll be looking forward to are next power outage. Have a nice day

I have never had anything negative to say about this place except for the last time I was there the gentleman that helped me was very rude and stubborn and honestly didn't know his job and it took me having to ask for a manager to get what I was there for

I have had GCI for many years and I love the internet WiFi the 2gig is super fast but this Yukon TV is the worst TV program I have ever used! It buffers all the time or it’s just a black screen or you get sound but no picture, this happens everyday like clockwork. On top of all this it’s also more expensive than other TV providers. If you want great wifi speed then use GCI, if you want TV go somewhere else don’t get Yukon TV even if they give it to you! I’ve already made arrangements to install a different TV system, can’t wait to get rid of Yukon TV!!

Great customer service, I will definitely go back to this store if I have any other issues. GCI online socks at customer service but this store made everything right and definitely helped keep me a customer.

The internet service is inconsistent and overpriced. They outsourced their techs out of the country. The only good thing is the salespeople in the store are nice.
