“This was our first time visiting Yakutat and the Situk, and we had plenty of expectations. Good fishing and good hospitality were key to our trip hopes. I can tell you that Yakutat Lodge was not just good, they were excellent! Fantastic guide services that provided personal best experiences not only in fish but also in personal connections with the guides (Ryan, Mike and Tyson) . The food was far beyond simply consistent in the ordinary meal fare, but the specials went above and beyond anything we could have imagined. Kudos to the chef and all the providers for wonderful meals (Bree, Edward and others) . The wait staff was attentive and enjoyable, not only providing for our meal needs but also enjoying conversations regarding the local area and life in Yakutat.
And then there is the organizing staff and ownership. Cody was fantastic and very personable. He helped to make sure our experience was immensely enjoyable. He was willing to help and address any lodging or logistical concerns we may have encountered. He was such a blessing. Craig was always checking with us and providing up to date options for us in the uncertainty of weather and access to fishing and services. He does good at organizing and provision, but is also great hospitality. And not to forget, our fish cleaner Jaydon, she was helpful, friendly and well skilled at preserving our catch and helping us get it organized for travel. What an amazing group to work and enjoy this fishing adventure with. Blessings to all the crew! We will be returning whenever we get our own plans in working order and Yakutat Lodge will be our first call.

“My husband and I have stayed here 8 times in the last ten years, so obviously we enjoy it. The lodge rooms are pretty basic with 2-3 twin beds and a shared bathroom on the first floor and shared kitchen on the second floor. Only a few have private bathrooms. The waterfront cabins are a little nicer and have more space. Everything is kept very clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful and they have bay fishing boats and fish processing on site. The lodge has a drying room, a nice prep area if you want to fillet your own fish, as well as outdoor grills. This is a great place to stay for river fishing, bay fishing, and ocean charters. Wildlife watching may include bald eagles, bears, wolves, moose, otters, seals, sea lions, sea stars, dolphins, and orcas. We have even watched a whale breach just outside the bay. There are beautiful beaches and old growth rainforests in Yakutat to explore as well as a trail leading to a lake full of ice bergs that have calved from nearby glaciers. I highly recommend Leonard’s Landing to any outdoor enthusiast. We will continue to spend time in this beautiful place.”
