This is a great place if your into wilderness fly fishing for salmon all types, plus deep water fishing for Halibut. The lodging is best at the main house overlooking the ocean but for the adventurous the small cabins and apartments are a treat. We have been 4 times for a week first time with guides (recommended) and afterwards self guiding, plenty o fish and wildlife to go around. The Fannings will always be remembered as hard working people that set out decades ago building a once in a lifetime resort God bless them both.

The customer service I experience at yak lodge is not like anything I’ve ever experienced elsewhere. Brianna and Chris are once in a lifetime characters. Brittany and Ed are truly a master of their craft. Whenever I have a question, Cody and Kraig are quick to answer. 10/10 recommend this lodge and the amazing staff. The cheesecake is a little expensive though?.

We live in Yakutat and eat the dinner specials at the lodge most nights during the season. The food this year (2023) has been great, great selection on specials and all of them were good. Looking forward to next season.Food & drinks: Really good, love dinners here.

Live in Yakutat so have never stayed in their rooms. We do, however, eat out there every night during the season. The cooks this year have been great, we've really been enjoying the dinner specials prepared by Brittany and Jake.

I have been fortunate to spend lots of time here. Just took a group of 14 for a business meeting held in the big house. It was a monumental experience for all involved. Great people, great fishing and a great environment.

I had the opportunity to stay in their cabins on the bay. Waking up every morning to a beautiful view. They have everything you will need to process fish and a place for a bonfire. Cody and Craig want to make sure your experience will last a lifetime.

Amazing place, friendly and knowledge staff. The "big house" cabin is beautiful and well kept with amazing views of the bay and mountains. Cody will take care of all of your needs, best fishing guides I have ever met. Make the trip and you will not regret is!

Great place, clean (1st pic). Towels were stained and whatnot, but so are mine at home. Main thing was everything was clean, that's all I ask for. The best thing is the bar is across the road (2nd pic). Good chow, healthy pours, great company. Luis and Bre ROCK!

Yakutat Lodge is one of the few places to eat in Yakutat. They serve breakfast and lunch (lunch service ends at 2pm), and they serve appetizers at 4pm, with dinner served starting at 5pm. So plan accordingly. The food is excellent diner fare and comforting. One of their bartenders is rough around the edges. Otherwise the staff is friendly and efficient. We did not stay overnight at the lodge, but it looked as if the people who did were quite content.

While the accommodations at the lodge during our six night stay package were good, as was the food and the workers in the restaurant, we had a situation that would keep me from ever returning there. When we booked our trip a year ago, we were told that it would be given one guided halibut trip and we would be furnished a boat for our use each of the other four days. This was the same package that my long time friend had been given two years ago. Several months after our booking, the lodge manager confirmed that we would have a boat because it was promised when we made the reservation, even though that was no longer part of their package. When we arrived, we were told that they would not give us a boat, which was a huge disappointment. In over 50 years of fishing and hunting all over the country with multiple guides and lodges, I have never had anybody be dishonest like this. The lodge manager told the four of us that the owner made the decision, even though we knew that this was totally unethical. In my business career, my company and I always did what we promised, and so did the companies I dealt with. I would certainly not recommend the Yakutat Lodge because of this, thinking that if a customer has a problem, the lodge could not be counted on to correct it. We had dealings with another lodge in Yakutat, Leonards Landing, and they were aboveboard and forthright, so I would advise staying with them as an alternative.

This lodge is not only full service, the service that they provide is well done. The guides are friendly and skilled in what they do. The location is hard to beat. Alaska Airlines has a direct flight from Seattle with 737 jet service! The lodge has many options on how you can set up your stay. From all inclusive to ala carte, you can your experience what you want it to be. The staff are helpful. The food is really good in my opinion. Full menu of tasty items. Bring in your catch and they will cook it up. We will be back no question!
