About Carter-Ryan Gallery

The Carter-Ryan Gallery is home to the work of Indigenous Visual Artist, Jason Carter. His bright paintings have greeted millions of visitors at the Calgary International Airport and the gallery features both his iconic paintings and beautiful stone sculptures. The Carter-Ryan has been a feature on Canmore's Main Street location since 2012 and in 2017, a second location opened in the culturally vibrant Bear Street in Banff Alberta. Visit either location to experience one of Alberta's most acclaimed visual artists.

    We stopped in to the gallery on a recent trip to Banff and were fortunate enough to meet Jason and Bridget - they were so welcoming and helped us pick out a lovely new piece for our home! The artwork here is amazing and the owners and team (Erin) even more so - highly recommend!

    Picked up a couple of wonderful pieces for our home. Love the sense of humor within some of the pieces and the geometric style is intriguing. The service was delightful as well with a genuine enthusiasm for the artist and their work. It was a lovely experience.
