Entered the bank to find only one female teller. They were just greeting their next clients, a couple, who the teller clearly knew on a personal level judging by the lively greeting and casual body language/mannerisms. It was clear that the bank interaction was quickly completed, and they were just catching up and discussing non-bank related matters.
Meanwhile, I was waiting for 10 minutes before a manager, Kyle, approached me from his office off the side and offered to help. Kyle was attentive, polite, and efficient. My interaction with Kyle lasted about 7 minutes or so.
When I left Kyle's office, the same teller was still in full conversation with the same couple. This kind of neglect of duties and care for other clients, in favour of what was clearly a catch up session with friends, is completely unacceptable and this teller should be performance managed. Kyle, on the other hand, should be commended for his perception, professionalism, and quick action.
The Banff branch should consider itself fortunate to have someone like Kyle on the team; someone who truly understands service. He's the only reason this review is not a 1 star. He personally gets 5+stars!
Regrettably, I cannot say the same for the teller, who is clearly not client focused at all and puts their own needs ahead of doing their job: providing quick, efficient, and professional service to clients.

Worst ever Bank in Banff, 0 services, no compassion, I even don't know how people do business with them. I don't know about conmore. I am on my way to change Bank.

Update: down grading from 3 to 1 stars. They care more about getting new clients than retaining the ones they have. No one at this bank seems to no procedures. I've had to go in, just to be told to call client care just to be told I have to go in person. So frustrating! Save the headaches, pay more of a fee, but go elsewhere.Annoyed that they are pushing you to do more online! Frustrating customer service at times. I've been with them for 15+ years and debating to switching to BMO.

I did a global money transfer and never got the money transferred.I have been calling and the only answer is that I have to wait, nobody knows where is my money.

Used the ATM in the lobby to obtain 200CAD with a 3.75 transaction fee.Went inside to exchange 50.00 bills for smaller denominations. They would not serve me without an account. Canadian dollars are CANADA'S legal currency and they are a BANK! What's the point of not helping someone who just paid them a fee? It was easier getting an antibiotic from a pharmacist in Canada than change for a 50.

Have a currency that needs to be exchange? Do you need cash to be broken up smaller?? Then don't come here, BMO will help you without a question. Sorry but girl with black hair working the teller said company policies. So if your looking for a bank to help you with simple bank problems, this bank is not the place for you.

Busy Friday afternoon an only one teller working, lineup out the door. After a long wait I was refused service because I am not a CIBC banking customer. I explained that I have been doing multiple transactions at other branches in recent weeks and the teller argued with me that all the other CIBC branches were wrong to serve me. I had even been into the Canmore branch the day before with no such problems. Even though they looked up my information that was already in their system from my transactions at other branches, they would not give me change for $200. Spoke to the Manager about it and she said the same thing... not interested in serving me, not even for $5 in change. Unbelievably poor customer service. I wonder what all the other people in line thought about this unreasonable treatment. After this I walked into the well staffed, no lineup BMO down the street instead and they were happy to assist.

I have always had great service here. The branch manager is one of the sweetest most personable people and will actively jump in to serve guests which I really respect. Emmanuel is an excellent financial advisor - he is instantly trustworthy and made my banking concerns feel like a breeze. Couldn't be happier with these two. Thank you!

The lady at the counter today didn’t help me how to activate my new card at the machine. She kept saying same thing over the counter to me though I needed her actual activation on my card. Her costumer service was average need more training.

Lady at the counter refused to deposit my pay roll check with no hild that I've been depositing for 8yrs. Yes I've never deposited here before but its payroll and I've been with the bank for 10+ yrs. But about a month ago same cheque was deposited no hold and cash withdrawn in Canmore. And I've never banked of any sort there. Pretty sure the lady just didnt want to do her job.
