1 year ago but I still think about it. Awful employees. I had been in the bush for days at a time no running water so this was my first stop from being out in the bush. I used the bathroom to change as quick as I could and freshen up so I didn’t smell for my Banff trip. It took me 5 minutes at most. The employee was harassing me knocking on the door and then later gave my boyfriend attitude about how long we’d been taking. Gas stations are meant to be a place for people to freshen up, buy food, gas, etc especially after a long trip. I can see others in the reviews feel the exact same way and I hope some of the employees get fired for this. It made the beginning of our Banff trip horrible and you and your establishment should be ashamed :/.

There are two Indian employees working here who made the experience unpleasant. One of them was very rude and extremely slow. On one occasion, I was in a rush and asked for cigarettes, and she told me to either come back later or wait about 15 minutes while she continued doing other tasks.
The second employee struggled to communicate in English, and I had to repeat my request four times before being understood.
Overall, the service quality is poor and unfriendly. This location is in Banff, and customer service should reflect that.
Also, staff repeatedly spoke in another language in front of customers, which feels unprofessional, as customers have no idea what is being discussed.

It’s Friday night at 5:00 p.m. I experienced an electrical failure in my vehicle and could no longer drive safely. I managed to get off the road and into a Shell station parking lot while I tried to arrange help. Fortunately, I found a mobile diesel mechanic who was able and willing to come out—thank you, Gord from Summit Mobile Diesel Repair. A truly good man.
The temperature was -15°C. I had no heat and waited over two hours for Gord to arrive.
While waiting, I asked the staff if I could temporarily plug my camper into the outlet directly beside my rig so my dog and I wouldn’t freeze. Because of the electrical issue, I had no other source of heat.
Rather than offering assistance, the woman working at the Shell told me I could not plug in, even briefly, and that I would have to remain in my freezing vehicle for the two-hour wait.
When I asked to speak with the manager, who was not on site, I was told no—and was informed that if I plugged in anyway, the police would be called.
I cannot understand treating someone this way during a vehicle emergency. When you so easily have the ability to help and choose not to, it says a great deal about your character.
I hope that when this employee—or the store manager—inevitably finds themselves in an emergency, they are met with kindness and not the poor attitude and treatment they offered me.
Brutal.

The staff are the worst. One nice girl but if the doors are unlocked it’ll probably take at least 20 minutes for anyone to serve you. They’ll be wearing earphones and talking on the phone, and they won’t say anything to you. Not normally one to write reviews but this place is a bad one

Expensive food and drink products but variety is OK. Just be prepared to eat a larger tan usually bill if shopping here.

Very bad customer experience. The girl over the cash counter is very unprofessional and do not have any sense how to talk with customers.

Hello,
I visited this Shell station in Banff today at around 8.00am. While I was using the washroom, a female employee harassed me about the amount of time I was in there. While my husband is having a coffee there. Her tone and words made me feel embarrassed and very uncomfortable.
I am sharing this so that you are aware of how customers are being treated. I would appreciate it if you could look into the matter and ensure that other customers are treated respectfully.

Has diesel at end of row, very modern, would be tough to get in if you had a trailer, being tight and busy Banff. Clean

Horrible horrible customer service, the woman at the front looked south Asian, she told me her name was Manjau K, this is my first time entering the grocery store and I was treated in a very rude manner for no reason. Wanted to ask if I was allowed to use the washroom out of etiquette, but was given an attitude from her. This will be my last time coming. Another man by my side was also upset as she was rude to both of us consecutively. She didn’t apologize and kept arguing until my mom had to step in and educate her on how to speak with customers.
I really do hope you improve and prioritize kindness and patience because the store is wonderful and has a great collection. But the experience overcame it.

I’d like to point out an issue I experienced with one of your employees. She appears to be a South Asian girl, and her attitude towards customers isn’t very pleasant. I’ve noticed others seemed to have faced similar behavior as well. I’d kindly suggest addressing this and guiding her on how to interact better with customers.
