OK (if our) Tire(s)I came in with a flat hoping to get winter tires put on my vehicle and to recycle my old tires but was refused service. This is my first attempt to get my tires switched at OK Tire as I usually use other shops in Canmore that take appointments. I chose OK Tire because I needed to drive to Calgary in a couple of days and couldn’t do so with a flat tire. I went to OK tire knowing they have a ‘first come, first serve” policy with the expectation that as long as I get there early I’d be able to get my car in and replace the flat tire. After calling the day before to see the best time to arrive in the morning, I showed up early to ensure that I would be first in line and dropped off my car. About an hour later they called me to tell me they were refusing to put my winter tires on because they were purchased elsewhere. When the receptionist called me she was very confrontational with her first question being who I bought my tires from and why they didn’t install them. Unsure of why she was even asking me I explain that I got them from Calgary (my brother got a deal on tires and drove them out to me from the city because I was stranded in Canmore with a flat). She told me they will not put on new tires that are not bought through them (apparently there is a sign on their door). Dispute me protesting that I couldn’t get it done in Calgary because I HAVE A FLAT TIRE and asking what I was suppose to do, she just told me to come get my car.If you have a policy of turning away customers with new tires you should inform them of this when they call or when they drop off their car for service. Just having the policy posted on the front door [among various other signs] was not sufficient. Both my time and their time was wasted when the situation could’ve been avoided with the receptionist giving more information or asking more questions when you drop off your vehicle.Unable to drive to Calgary, I had to cancel my appointments and the poor customer service left me very disappointed in the shop. I will definitely not be using OK Tire in the future and will not recommend it to any of my friends or coworkers in the Bow Valley.

So helpful with sorting out the tyres on our old truck! Chantelle’s help was amazing, highly recommend, much better service and price than Canadian tire ?

We needed a tire repaired on our way home from Fairmont to Edmonton. Michelle went out of her way to help us out. Cody worked on our tire efficiently and we were on our way in two hours. So thankful for the amazing service. Highly recommend!!

Called to get new tires for my business truck. I was on the phone with Lauren, and got tire suggestion, quote emailed and job booked the next morning. This all happened in about 3 minutes. Thanks Lauren, efficient service and the tires are a world of difference.

Despite having to return to the shop to resolve a very weird shimmy, the staff and mechanics tackled it and resolved it. A great deal of patience was required. I highly recommend OK Tire Canmore.

These guys are simply the best! They helped me with a tire repair even though they were just closing for a staff function. Customer service at its best!

I arrived before 8 as arranged and was told, not nicely, that I would have to wait upwards of 2 hours to have 4 tires installed. I could do it myself with a bumper jack in less than an hour. I drove from Banff to Kal Tire in Lumby BC, had 4 tires on in 20 minutes at $100 less per tire than the Canmore quote. Not to mention they did my brakes on the spot in a 1/2 hour.

I recently had two truck repairs done in the shop - the shop cost me more money because they damaged stuff while fixing other stuff...they didn't charge me labour for the repair but I had to pay for parts that normally I wouldn't have had to do. Also, they made it impossible for me to open my hood - and I called them to tell them that I cannot open my hood anymore and they said they would get back to me but never did. I won't go back. I would have given them a 1 star only but they other truck they put tires on and did an alright job, but the tires are too big for the mud flaps and now they rub...they should have noticed this and fixed it. Or not sold me such big tires. I am pretty annoyed with this shop.

I wish I had read some of the reviews before because as so many already wrote in the reviews the same incident happened to me. The 1 star rating doesn’t even do justice.I dropped of my car for a winter tire change. The ladies on the reception desk were all for no specific reason unfriendly, unwelcoming and condescending. They signed me up for the tire change and mentioned it is a 48 hour turn around nowadays as it was first come first serve basis. Totally understand that and respect the fact that it may take a while when the entire town needs their tires changed. On 2 day of waiting and having the car parked outside their shop, they called me stating they are refusing to change my tires over because I did not purchase the tires from them. I was completely perplex over the phone and asked why? The manager, again was very condescending and mentioned that I should have purchased the tires from them and not from someone else like Canadian Tire (btw did not purchase them from Canadian Tire). I mentioned regardless of where I got my tires from, they are a tire shop (their name is “OK Tires” after all) and their job is to change tires. She again refused to change them and I asked why they haven’t said something when they took the job instead of me being without a car for 2 days and only for them to refuse the job 2 days after my car is parked with them. She mentioned there is a sign at the door and that it is company policy. Note there are about 15 signs on the door and who really reads all signs anyway? I mentioned to her regardless of sign, they should have mentioned it when they took on the job.An hour after the phone conversation I went to pick up my car from them and expressed my frustration again to the lady at the counter who handed me back my key.I look at their counter and saw about 25 car keys lying there waiting for a tire change and then asked her, did all of those customers purchase the tires with you? She said, no but their tires may not be new? (makes no sense). I followed up with another questions asking, so next year after my tires are not new anymore, I am ok to come here and get them changed. She said yes, next year it would be ok. I told her argument made no sense to which she replied that all those cars to are waiting for service are all from members of the community and long-term customers. I told her that I am member of the Canmore community since about 8 years and have been coming to them before as well. She had nothing further to say.I asked her what kind of business practice it is to not change tires when your business is literally to change tires. I am still in complete shock but rest assured that the community will hear about this. You take on my car and sign up a job, keep the car for 2 days and then realize the tires are not purchased from you and then call to say you are not changing them over?! They could make not reasonable argument why they would not do the job and I guess are just spiteful for people purchasing tires somewhere else. Horrendous.Side note: the tires I got are brand new and purchased online. I was at OK Tire about a month prior to collect some quotes on new winter tires. The tire I wanted they quote was $1400 for a set of 4. I took the quote home and did some research and found a distributor who would ship me the tires for $1000 so $400 cheaper than what OK Tires in Canmore quoted me. So yes, I did not purchase the tires from them for obvious reasons.Service: Tires

I have used this shop many times and always received excellent customer service not only from the front desk staff, but the mechanics as well. It's been a pleasure have a reliable shop where the staff have taken the time to create a relationship with me so that I feel like more than just another customer when I walk in. If a job is going to take longer than anticipated, they always update me as soon as they can and explain what happened and why in a way that's easy to understand, instead of using terminology that's not understandable unless you are a mechanic. I have never once felt like a lack of knowledge has been taken advantage of, and they go above and beyond for taking the time to go over what work is needed and making sure you understand why. They make getting your vehicle serviced around a busy schedule so easy with convenient drop off and pickup options, and usually have the services I've asked for done very quickly even if they know I won't be able to pick my vehicle up until the end of the day. Always a great experience, thank you for everything you've done for me so far and will continue to do!

Stopped by to get oil change and tire rotation and first they advised only the expensive air filter was available (extra $22) then the wheel lock ratchet bit broke in middle of changing tires and charged $40 per tire ($200 extra) to remove and replace with nuts I supplied. The total time to do the extra work was 45 mins, total rip-off.Could have all this done for much cheaper at the dealer had I known they overcharge, not the honest garage I was looking for. read the reviews before you consider this place.

The staff themselves are lovely but the overall price gauging is ridiculous. Quoted $5000 for a job that we ended up getting done in the city by a reliable mechanic for $1700 all in. Unfortunately we decided to take it to Calgary after we had already overpaid for 2 repairs from OK tire previously. Don’t recommend

Travelled through Banff and got a screw in my tire. Phoned all repair shops in Banff and Canmore and earliest appointment was in the end of that day. Guys from Ok Tire were able to help me right away and saved me a lot of time! Staff is very friendly. Thanks!

I drove my car to check engine over heat after they checked. I got a call they can’t fixed it and even car not start also. I have to tow my car. I can’t understand why they accept orders. If they don’t know the job I clearly told them before I drove car.
