During my short stay in Canmore, my friends and I visited this Safeway at least 4 times...we became a little obsessed. The parking lot view is absolutely breathtaking. You're completely surrounded by big beautiful mountains the minute you pull up and things just get better from here. This Safeway has anything you could ever want. Canadian candy, American candy, groceries, a water refill station, maple syrup and more. We met the nicest cashier who was practically our tour guide and gave us a fantastic hiking itinerary. Need Canadian money? Look no further because there's an atm here! I did a lot of amazing things while I'm Canada, but Safeway made it happen by providing fresh water, snacks, mountain views and great company along the way.

Watch the sale signs (on the floor it may show a sale price but at the till you may be charged full price) and expiry dates. Cannot trust what this store advertises or sells. Buyer beware. Quite deplorable considering people are struggling financially and have basic needs....LIKE FOOD!!

The male pharmacist at Safeway Canmore working on May 13th, 2022 (I didn’t catch his name) was an absolute god send and I will keep his kindness in my heart moving forward, I’ve gone to so many doctors and clinics over the past weeks and although he doesn’t work at a clinic, he genuinely was the only person who listened to me and showed compassion towards my situation. He sent me in the right direction and I finally received the treatment I needed! Thank you so much to this kind man. <3

Pretty good selection of items, unfortunately all over super overpriced. They didn't have enough checkout lanes open so it took longer to checkout than to shop.

These guys were able to fill my prescriptions very quickly on very short notice. We had forgotten our sons meds at home ans realized as we were passing through Canmore. Safeway pharmacy was able to get the prescription transferred to them and filled in half an hour and we were able to get back on the road fairly quickly. Trevor was so helpful in getting these ready so quickly.

Good selection of items as usual, each aisle is clearly signed so I know where items are just by scanning the signs quickly, and there's a fresh seafood counter as well as a fresh bakery. Self-checkout is available here and makes the process faster too.
