I live in Bonnyville and our local bike repair place said "drop it off. We don't know how long it will take" I need my bike and there was no other option. I contacted Mach 1 but they do not get back to you. I'm willing to give a $100 deposit and if I don't drop it off the day before they say I am ok if I lose it. I understand it will be a wait but to ignore customers is something I don't understand. I ended up driving hours to a place that worked with me.

Came to Cold Lake from the Edmonton to visit family and ride the new bike park. Ended up having a crash the day before coming and needed to replace shift lever. Upon doing that, I was having issues with derailleur alignment and tension, and was hoping I could pay an experienced tech to fix if quickly.Brought my bike in here and was told that because I didn't buy through them, I was extremely low on their priority level, and the work wouldn't be getting done before I would be headed back to Edmonton (despite the owner saying it was a 5-10 minute job). They're extremely lucky there isn't a single competing bike shop in town as I don't think they'd be getting the business they do otherwise as they're not catering to anyone that isn't local or hasn't dropped thousands on a bike through them.

I bought my mountain bike there, during a pretty hefty deal. That was awesome I got it like 400 bucks off. This shorter girl knew her stuff, awesome person. They have such a cool shop and had a nice experience, great staff and very helpful.

A locally owned small business specializing in a variety of sports and adventures equipment and apparel. The owner is a passione community member who is highly knowledgeable. Great customer service and also offers bike repair and tuning.

I would have given zero stars if it let me, as I received zero customer service from this place. I went to buy new ski gear and was told it is $20 to try on ski boots, I feel like they are trying to lock me into a sale. The $20 goes towards the sale of the boots, so either lose $20 or be committed to buy the boots. I offered to try on my own ski boots and the sales girl rudely stated “I will not be putting your boots on you”. I asked if they didn’t have boots that fit me would I get the $20 back, they said no. The owner told me that customers spend 30 minutes trying on ski boots and don’t buy them, or buy them online, like he has never owned a retail store before. So, either he needs to provide better service, or better prices to get customers. I was prepared to unload $1000+ on a new ski, boots, etc., but instead I will wait until I go to Edmonton. I always try to buy local, but some places make it real hard.

Went to buy a one time bike repair part and Ed helped me fix the problem with his tools to avoid buying the tool I would only use once. Even gave several recommendations on preventative maintenance for my bike even though it was not purchased at his shop. Super impressed and recommend his services highly.

I took my bike there on Oct 2 2020 to have brake cables and shifting gear replaced. I got it back on May 6 2021 in the same condition I handed it to them. I went back and checked over the winter no less than 6 times and was told they were awaiting parts which is the same answer I got when I walked out the door with it and took it over to Sportchek. They get a star for storing it for the winter. I’ll take my business elsewhere for anything sports related in the future.

Bought some spin shoes from here. Absolutely fantastic experience, you can tell they care about the customers and not just the sale. You can tell they care about the customer wholly and I could not recommend coming here for any of your sporting needs enough. Fantastic experience.

Honestly blows my mind that this shop has people giving it 5 stars. It leads me to think that they must not have dealt with the male owner there. He is a nightmare to deal with and has ZERO people skills. Every time I go in for a UPS package pickup (since they are the only place in town that does it) he has to make a big deal about it and Lord help you if you try to pick it up on the weekend. He will make it a point to tell you that the agreement with him and UPS is only for weekdays and blah blah... However, there is a lady that also works there and she is super awesome all the time. She should run the store and he should just not be customer facing at all. Seriously don't bother doing business here unless you have no other choice and even then reconsider.

Called the store asking if they would service a bicycle I have not rode for a couple if years. Was told nope due to the sanitization process it was not worth it. But he would sell me a new bike. So if after a week and needed work on the new bike would it be worth it for him to fix it? So I assume from the conversation once you buy the bike, have any problems its not worth it for him to wipe it down and fix it. He could have sold me new tires, new seat, adjusting the breaks etc and I would have not argued as I was willing to help a small business during this crazy time. Not anymore and would not recommend anyone doing business there. I'll take the drive to Bonnyville and do my business with Sylvester's sports. Sylvester's had no problem with me bringing my bike in. The person I was talking to blamed it on the AHS cleaning protocols. Its just laziness. Spend your money somewhere else. This business doesn't deserve your time.

The owner is a hard working business man trying to keep his business a float. The operation is too big for one man. He is the only full time employee, this causes him to hire inexperianced sales reps with Poor knowledge of snowboards and skateboards. The quality of items they have is amazing, the brands they support are usually great but. But they have no boarding enthusiasts. store feels out dated, could definitely use new signs as they look sun bleached and bland. The dogs provide a positive, warm, homely feel to the shop, but might be a concern for some allergenic people.I wish Mach1 the best and can change to be warmer, more knowledgeable, more relaxed, more involved with the community and to a new feeling store. Change my mind. ????????
