“I absolutely loved my stay at Flint Rock Ranch. There is something genuinely special about this place. It felt a little like stepping through a portal into a different world, where everything slows down and you reconnect with pieces of yourself you hadn’t realized you’d left behind.
I was lucky enough to stay with a good friend and our two dogs, and the cabin was exactly what we needed: cozy, comfortable and cute, with just enough space to feel like a little home away from home.
Our host was incredible. He checked in on us, made us feel welcome, and included us in things happening around the ranch, making it feel like so much more than simply renting a cabin.
There are three hiking trails on the property. We weren’t terribly successful at finding them, but had fun trying! The long not-as-flat-as-you-think driveway was perfect for morning walks and bike rides with or without the dogs, with good visibility around us, which we appreciated in bear country.
But what I’ll remember most is how it felt to be there: calm, steady, light, fun and free. Like dancing & singing your heart out like no one is watching, sitting around a fire taking in the view, or getting lost in one of those deep but easy conversations with a good friend that somehow carries on until 1 a.m.
By the end, our host, his family, their dogs and even some of the neighbours made us feel like we’d known them forever. I came home feeling like I’d truly been away, and maybe even a little more like myself again. I would go back in a heartbeat.”
