Don’t go unless you’re able to waste 3-6hrs+ of your day. Don’t expect an actual diagnosis or prescription just expect your time to be wasted. I went in the other day was put in a room fairly quick which I was surprised about, they took tests, I waited for 5 hrs and was sent on my way with no diagnosis or prescription or any form of help, I have not been able to sleep at night because I can barely breathe and keep getting worse. I would rather pay for healthcare like the states and actually get help than deal with this insane system that wastes your valuable time that could be spent earning money instead. This hospital has been here my whole life, when I was little (like 5yrs(Im 20 now, that’s 15yrs no improvement ) with an ear infection I remember my mom was very angry because we had been there for 4 hrs. When I had pneumonia, I was given antibiotics but nobody contacted me to confirm the results of the tests. I hope that healthcare in Alberta changes soon, no point in free healthcare if nobody can get actual help.

I’m pregnant. I went in to receive help for me and baby. After being in a room for 5 hours I was never seen by any doctor, no nausea meds were provided as I have been violently throwing up for 8 days now. No blood test was taken, no ultrasound was done. Absolutely nothing. I was becoming so light headed and faint that we ended up checking me out of there as I had been completely forgotten about behind a white wall and this random lady kept coming into my room and talking to my mother and myself. Another patient. For close to 2 hours she bugged us. As she talked about maybe having Covid and coughing up a bunch of white stuff. At no point was she told to go to her own room. Not until my mom went out and said we were leaving. Then finally stranger danger was asked to leave us alone. I listened to the two docs get to know each other. Share some laughs. It was a wonderful social affair. While myself and other patients were completely ignored.
Please any mommy’s that are expecting a child. PLEASE don’t go here. You and baby deserve better.
The only thing that made this trip somewhat bearable was the two nurses.
They also deserve better.

Quickest in and out of a canadian hospital ever on multiple visits. Worth the half hour drive. We had to wait over an hour just to go through triage at the urgent care airdrie

Drove her around 5 pm with my daughter under suspicion of an ear infection. Triage nurse saw us right away! Administered medication and the doctor came out right away to check her ear. We were in an out in less than 20 minutes and it was an ear infection. Very friendly staff and very efficient for our visit, it was much appreciated.

I went in twice for severe pelvic pain. I was given pain medication and blood work taken, which pointed to all my levels being normal. I was scheduled an urgent pelvic ultrasound, which I got done shortly after. I was connected by a male doctor from this hospital who told me I had PCOS. He said to me I'll probably gain weight and grow extra hair, and told me to get checked for insulin resistance, then hung up abruptly. No solutions, nothing. I was left to believe I had a life changing condition when I in fact had nothing of the sorts. No care to check and make sure I ACTUALLY had it, and no sympathy either. I am disgusted with this lack of care, and lack of knowledge of womens health. Never again.

I have lived in the Didsbury area for approximately a decade, a place I’ve come to know intimately. Fortunate enough to have been spared serious medical concerns for the majority of this time, my recent minor medical issues necessitated visits to the local hospital’s laboratory services. Given the often-heard criticisms surrounding lab services throughout the province, I approached my first visit with a degree of skepticism. However, my experiences have compelled me to share a different narrative. On two separate occasions, I utilized the lab services at Didsbury Hospital. Despite my initial reservations, both visits were marked by efficiency and professionalism that stood in stark contrast to the negative perceptions commonly associated with such facilities. My latest visit, a walk-in, was particularly notable. Upon arrival, the sight of a queue led me to brace for a lengthy wait. However, the laboratory technician, Ashley, managed the flow of patients with such skill and speed that any concern about delays swiftly dissipated. Remarkably, Ashley was operating solo on this day, a fact that was all but imperceptible given her proficiency and pace. From the moment I arrived to the moment I departed, a mere 30 minutes had elapsed. This level of efficiency, especially under the circumstances of a single technician handling the workload, is commendable. Ashley’s ability to manage her responsibilities, ensuring that each patient received prompt and careful attention, was nothing short of extraordinary. Additionally, Ashley’s vibrant, bubbly personality and sense of humor made the experience not just bearable but actually enjoyable, a stark contrast to some of my lab experiences in Calgary. While it’s true that the system sometimes falls short, these instances are not the fault of any frontline staff. Rather, they are a reflection of the broader challenges within healthcare systems. My experiences at the Didsbury District Lab Services have been overwhelmingly positive. The professionalism, efficiency, and care demonstrated by the staff, especially under potentially stressful conditions, have not only dispelled the negativity often heard about lab services in the province but have also instilled a sense of confidence and appreciation for the hard work and dedication of individuals like Ashley. Hopefully, I don’t have to utilize these services very often, but I know that if I do, I am in the hands of caring professionals. Thanks again,Walk-in number 42

Would not suggestthere is no communication with the patients small waiting room only one patient was seen within the three hours of me waiting there. They have multiple staff sitting on the desk, discussing other patient treatment plans, and stating their name highly unprofessional. It’s a shame I pay so much in tax dollars and can’t be seen, well our funds go to staff sitting and keeping a seat, warm and not focussing on the patients that need care healthcare should be reevaluated and monitored. I wish I made a taping of their conversation. I’m sure they would lose their job for breaking ethics.
