Bought myself a cute fall coat from South Edmonton Common on 9/30/2024.
On 10/2/2024, I noticed on the website that the coat went on sale (20% off). I phoned the store to confirm I could return/repurchase the coat to receive the discount and the pleasant lady on the phone told me “of course”.
I attended at the store on 10/4/2024 with my receipt to refund (since I was within the 30 day policy) and repurchase it to benefit from the discount. The manager LAURA, who was very unpleasant and rude, questioned “what store” and “who” advised me that this was acceptable when I told her I had phoned to confirm. She then told me “we don’t price match so i would have to make an exception”.
Wait, what? I don’t need an “exception”. Just return the coat as per your policy and let me purchase it again. The way she communicated with me was as if my request was not reasonable and as if other consumers would never do something like this.
To top it all off, she refused to assist me with just the receipt (refund and repurchase in same transaction) and insisted I go home and get the coat because she physically needed it.
Terrible customer service from the store manager LAURA who insisted on being difficult for no reason. I won’t be returning and if I didn’t like the coat as much as I did, I would have just returned it altogether.
Laura needs customer service training and to better understand her own store policies.

Very poor customer service at Ardene south common store. Manager was very rude. This was the last time I ever bought something from Ardene and will tell everyone I know about this bad experience.

Came here to buy a few things! Really needed to pee. Sales person told me theres no washroom I can use and listed off a bunch of other places a decent walk away. Decided to take my business elsewhere. Not very good business if your customers have to leave to use a washroom. You will lose sales as you did today.

When standing in the change room you can see the camera in the mirror. I told the people that work there and they did nothing about it. There is no privacy.

I went in to ardene today to exchange a shirt that I had bought the day before and when I had made my purchase, I got 15% off for signing up for the emails when I went to exchange they told me that I would have to pay the difference because it was a one time only discount when all I was doing was exchanging the size of the item so I had to argue with them that that actually isn’t the way it works then they finally agreed and said oh we can do it this one time. you really need to educate and train your employees properly I work in retail that’s not how it works. I will never be going back to ardene in general after this. for how I was treated, and how uneducated the employees are at their own job

I often find that this Ardene is often messy and doesn’t have great variety. I much prefer the WEM location. Also this store is so dark inside… they should do something about that.

Tried to return a pair if shoes at millwoods gardens in Edmonton. I had walked in them outside...totally expecting they would be fine. I've never had a foot issue. But got a severe bluster. They refused to take back because of dirt on soles. They would not give me credit. Last time I shop here...it was my go to store.

super nice staff, great selection! i spent a long time in there looking for swimsuits and they were very accommodating with the change room and didn’t bother me much and they didn’t seem like they wanted to rush me out either!

I found the store underwhelming, they didn't have a lot of variety. Also the change rooms were awful. The hooks were broken or gone. I had to put my clothes right on the floor. Also one of the close hangers was broken so it wouldnt even hold the shirt properly.
