I went with a friend (who is bisexual…trust it’s relevant) to the WEM build-a-bear location yesterday to get another friend a birthday gift. Now to paint this picture I am a straight woman, but I am well aware of the fact that I look very very gay (I have short hair and good fashion sense), and often when I am out with my female friends we get mistaken as a lesbian couple, which is fine. The individuals who helped us stuff our toy and direct us where to go were very kind and helpful, and I could tell they assumed we were a couple but that’s a pretty common occurrence for us (and honestly we look pretty gay so I can’t fault them for that) so we don’t mind. However, when we got to the till the girl taking the payment greeted us by saying “How are you frootloops doing today?” and then stared at me for an uncomfortable amount of time. I was shocked someone would say that to a stranger so I asked again what she said and my friend repeated it to me. Both of us were uncomfortable so we brushed it off and just kinda went “oh good,” the worker then proceeded by saying that she had “clocked us” (which in fact she had not) by guessing we were a queer couple. We kind of laughed it off and then left. I’m all cool with people assuming we’re a queer couple, but to comment on it and call us “frootloops” was weird and uncomfortable. While sort of funny to me and my friend I could only imagine how uncomfortable comments like that may make other people, especially queer people who are not openly out with their sexuality or are not ok with that kind of language. Please ensure your workers are using appropriate language when greeting customers.

Rowan and Adonis were super nice! Both seemed to genuinely care about and be excited about the products and even did a heart ceremony for my partner who is 22 which we both really appreciated <3 Even as it was 1 hour until the mall closed, it was still bustling in there, and each customer was taken care of and attended to in a very timely manner. Great customer service and a place I'm very fond of since my own childhood :3

We had an excellent experience at Build-A-Bear for the kids! From selecting the bear to filling it and adding a heart, and then choosing outfits and creating a birth certificate, it was a memorable activity. While it can be pricey, we often take advantage of the birthday bear promotion, where you pay your child’s age if you purchase it during their birthday month. This is a fantastic way to enjoy the experience, especially if you're on a budget!

Quite annoyed with this location and a staff member. My friends and I came right when this store opened to build a bear (crazy I know). We were ready and the woman worker told us to stand in line for step 2. First in line. She started moving people into the line from the start not the end and pushing my friends and I back. She let 3 families with multiple bears go ahead of us and knowingly pushed us to the back of the line for no reason. Maybe she doesn’t know how lines work or maybe because we’re not children she felt the need to put them first. But I am a paying costumer and I found it extremely distespectful.

We had our daughters birthday party here with 5 other kids.
It was a great experience!
All of the girls walked out with big smiles.
They chose bears.... stuffed them together... picked out hearts with each putting an extra heart in the birthday girls. Help getting them all dressed.
Definitely recommend it!

Was just at the Build A Bear getting a bear for my daughters birthday and Adrian was so helpful and explained everything as we went though the steps. Positive and smiling!
Dasha and Emil were at the register and so helpful with check out and again so positive and polite!
Really made my first experience at build a bear, a great one!! 💕💕

Staff are friendly, and great with small children. The location is small and congested. The only thing longer then the line to have your bear stuffed, is the one to pay.

Got a build-a-bear here with me and my friends and the workers made it an amazing experience even as an adult! They were funny, kind, and made an effort to help you out in anyway with your bear(s)

I think the staff is really nice. The guy at the front with red hair was friendly. However.. I feel like they’re really not being supported well. I wonder if putting a limit of 10 customers in the store would help honestly.
