I brought my vehicle to Dot's for a transmission replacement early July 2024. They didn't start working on it until mid August. After I finally got it back I noticed it was leaking oil , which it had not done prior to being at Dot's. They said it had nothing to do with the transmission replacement and they would not fix the leak. I took it to my regular mechanic to check everything else out. They completely cleaned the engine and replaced everything that it could possibly be leaking from and it still leaks from the transmission. Dot's still will not acknowlege that the leak is from inside the transmission, that cost me $7000. They also had 3 different receptionist in the 6 weeks that I had to deal with them. I do not recommend Dot's.

Boris and his team are wonderful!! Our car broke down unexpectedly, and with an urgency to have it fixed due to working in the car... 3 shops turned us down. One place said it "sounded" like a transmission issue so we should call Boris at Dots Transmission. We expressed our urgency to have the vehicle ready as soon as humanly possible. They said no problem come in and we'll take a look right away! By 7pm that night, Boris called me to tell me what the issue is, (not the transmission thankfully) and that they can have it repaired by tomorrow. Their customer service is unmatched, and Boris is a gem of a man! He will now be my future mechanic for everything! Thanks Boris and team for fixing us up in a quick, timely manner. Go see Boris! He's wonderful.

I was very happy with the service I received. They actually diagnose a problem properly rather than just change parts. I dealt with Boris who took the time to explain things to me. I highly recommend this shop to anyone who wants a great job done by honest people.

I was told they would call with my quote later in the day. They never call me back to give me a quote. Even if they turned down the job they should have called.

I really debated writing this review, because the owner and his wife are very nice people who are doing their best, but my experience with them was so disappointing and I don't want anyone else to go through the same thing unawares.I brought my car in in 2022. To be fair, it was a hard time because post-pandemic everyone was having supply chain issues. I was told it could take several months to receive the parts my car needed (clutch replacement and transmission rebuild). It was a big job, so I understood that it might take some time and I was ready to be patient.The issues started when I would verbally confirm details with Boris or his wife, Sandra (the receptionist), and then nothing would come of it. I would be told that I would hear back from them in 2 weeks about when they could get the parts and an estimate. I never received an update. When I called to find out, I had to play phone tag with them for several days before I could get any information. Sandra didn't know any details and would tell me that Boris would call me back. He never did. So I would call again and wait to hear.They were eventually able to order some parts for my vehicle, but others were still question marks. Again, every time I called I would receive promises about timeline and details being updated, but I would never hear anything back for weeks. Then I would have to start the phone tag again to try to get an update. It took over 3 months and many, many phone calls for them to send me an estimate.At one point during this long process, I was once again calling to ask for something they had promised me several weeks before (I'm not sure if it was the estimate or an update on parts, or perhaps whether the work could begin soon). I reminded them that they had given me a deadline of when they would contact me and had not followed through, and the response I received was, "well, I lied."At this point, I was seriously considering going elsewhere, but I didn't want to have to wait again for another company to order the parts and take another 3 months for them to arrive. So I stuck it out.Later on I was told that the parts were arriving soon and work would begin, but I was uncertain about trusting that. There was one part that hadn't arrived yet, so they were still waiting for that part. Finally, I decided to just head over and talk to them in person (not the first time I had to do that). When I arrived, I was told that the work was done and my car was nearly ready to go! I asked about the part they said hadn't arrived yet, and they said there was no such part and they had everything they needed. I was particularly concerned when at the end of everything, Boris said "I really hope that the clutch was the problem here, because I just had this thought that maybe that wasn't the real issue."So, I drove away with a fixed vehicle that continues to run fine (albeit, with much more stick shift "stickiness" in certain gears than it ever had before). The price I paid was under what Boris originally quoted me, and he did put in extra effort to smooth out the flywheel so we didn't have to replace the original. But ultimately, I'm not sure it was worth it. The amount of stress and constant back and forth I had to do to get information was so frustrating. I found the mixed information and lack of follow-up to be very unprofessional. Nearly every time I called (and believe me, I called MANY times), Sandra would ask for my phone number to take down. This made me feel like I was unimportant to them as a customer.I think Boris and Sandra are trying to run a very relaxed, family business, and maybe that works for some people who don't mind these kinds of hiccups. But for me, it was a nightmare that lasted for over 4 months.

Boris, Sandra and the team were wonderful. Dot was recommended by our regular shop for transmission work and I can see why. My issue ended up not being transmission-related, and Boris and the team took care of it and had my car back to me ASAP. Would definitely recommend. Thank you!

Had my truck towed in, got a quick response from the owner. He gave a thorough explanation of work being done, all in all a great experience. It’s been about a 2 months since being to the shop and my truck runs better than before.

Don't bother with this business. All I was looking for was a quote and some information before bringing my vehicle in for some transmission work. However, after multiple calls with reassurance of a call back, and even an email, I still have not been replied to. It is clear to me that this business has no interest in even providing the most basic of decencies towards customers. Don't waste your time and don't have any expectations, because they will be sure to disappoint and let you down.

Had an ongoing transmission problem of hard shifting, talked to Boris about it he said to bring it over and we would go for a test drive, Of course it ran perfectly while trying to replicate the shifting so Boris said run it till it started to act up about 2weeks later it started to act up and backing into the garage it was making weird noise and the check engine lite came onSo the next day took it back to Boris but the check engine light had gone out went for a rest drive the there was one hard shift and it ran perfectly so it was decided to put the scanner on it to see if there were any codes there were 2 codes relating to the throttle positioning sensor/transmissionThey recommended to replace the sensor he said I could replace it myself as I have a mechanical back ground so twenty minutes and $100.00 dollars later the truck was running perfectlyWe have delt with Dots transmission over the years l have found them to be able to explain things in layman’s terms, they do not try to up sell, they do great work at fair prices and they back theirI highly recommend for any work you need done. i went to 2 other places being told i had a leak they couldnt help with, came here and was told there was no leak! the staff was very kind, respectful and i 100% recommend this place.Service: Transmission
