Before moving to Edmonton, I used to go to Great Clips all the time. I did the same. I went to this location 3 times, and the last 2 times, they didn't do a great job. They didn't get the finishing I was expecting, and some parts of the haircut were very non-uniform. Sadly, I wouldn't come back.

Nity the stylist was attentive and respectful as she listened to my litany of hair issues. I brought a couple of pictures to show the style I was aiming for (short pixie with texturizing and some way of dealing with my cowlicks and ugly nape-line). Nity proceeded with caution, checking with me as she went. When I wasn't sure, she offered her opinion and I was open to that. The result was a fabulous style and a delightful new hairdresser for a very reasonable price. I'm a senior and it was a Tuesday promotion!

This afternoon, a warm and sunny day, several customers including me were seated in the waiting area getting roasted by the sun. A customer tried to lower the blinds to get some relief but the staff advised that the blinds were too short and could not provide actual shade. It was uncomfortably warm. Please provide full length blinds in your windows. I'm a long-time customer here and the staff and service are always great. The 1 star is for the blind situation.

I walked in - my hair has been driving me beyond crazy; I didn't have to wait at all - the stylist was nervous about cutting my hair because it was pretty long (enough to braid) and I wanted it short (like short short pixie cut) - she totally took care of me - I LOVE IT!!!

Laughably bad haircut done by Nity.Nity would not listen to me, at all. I asked for one length all the way around and to trim my curtain bangs. I asked her multiple times to cut the back to the same length as the front, and consistently she would cut the front (right side) instead? I had to tell her to leave the front right side alone, because she kept. Cutting. It. Then she told me that unless she cut my hair to my chin, she couldn’t make it the same length all the way around (???). Then she said she couldn’t make my hair look less choppy and blunt because my hair was dead (it was because the back was longer than the front and looked like stairs on my shoulder…) and then claimed I told her not to cut it more in the back. I was ASKING her to cut the back? And one of the first things I said to her was I’d rather have healthy hair than long hair.I told her I felt like she wasn’t listening to me, and asked her to communicate how much she wanted to cut, because early on she started cutting the front of my hair for “face framing layers” and it did not look the way I wanted. Had she communicated her vision before cutting, I would have just told her to not do it.I asked for a different stylist and she told me there was no one else who could do my hair. Then a few minutes later, after realizing I could not trust the process, I told her I was done with the haircut and asked to pay. I was there for about 20 minutes, so I really tried to give her a chance. I paid full price for the service, I didn’t even get a discount. I came back later to ask for the manager’s contact info and was told to call today, Jan 17, between 9am-3pm and ask for Lan. She couldn’t even pass my information along to the manager in advance, knowing I was upset, to have the manager to reach out to me first. I had to call twice and leave a message to have the manager to call me back a couple hours later.I’ve had great experiences with great clips for years, but Nity ruined not only my trust with the brand, but my trust in hair stylists. I’m hoping there is a way to file a formal complaint because this was genuinely ridiculous. I had to buy scissors and cut my hair myself at home to fix this “professional” hair cut.Update: I came in the next day, as agreed, for my refund, and had to wait 10 minutes for the manager to even talk to me because she was doing a client’s hair. I would have appreciated being addressed, or even prioritized, after my poor experience a couple days before. Nity was there when I arrived and stayed at the computer for the refund process. At one point, she asked me to show the manager the photo I showed her for my curtain bangs. It was after my last haircut there with a different stylist, but I told her it wasn’t necessary, as my main issue was her not cutting my hair the same length all the way around. Nity smirked at me after I said that. I don’t feel as if she or the manager actually felt sorry about what happened.
