  Horrible Experience at Midas – Avoid at All Costs
  
  I brought my car to Midas over two weeks ago for a simple tire swap (summer to winter), but it turned into a complete disaster. Initially, they upsold me on coolant and transmission flushes for $500, assuring me that my radiator wasn’t leaking after I had concerns it was. I trusted them and approved the work. Afterward, they claimed my water pump and engine belt also needed replacing or they couldn’t do the coolant flush, bringing the total cost to $1,000.
  
  Then they quoted me $4,000 to fix my radiator, replace the water pump and engine belt, and switch my tires—far beyond reasonable costs. They also tried to scare me by saying my car could “die any minute” unless I approved the work.
  
  Frustrated, I took my car directly from Midas to Bruce Stewart’s Auto Mechanic for a second opinion. Bruce’s team found shop rags stuffed in my skid pan and transmission fluid spilled in the engine body—evidence of Midas’ utter lack of professionalism. On top of that, my radiator was leaking fluids between the coolant and transmission, making the transmission flush they did do completely useless.
  
  When I contacted Midas for a refund, I was ignored for over two weeks despite calling three times and leaving messages with the reception and them saying the manager will contact you tomorrow or next day. The manager finally called back after I left an angry voicemail. He dismissed my concerns about the shop rags, saying they “wouldn’t damage the car,” completely missing the point. He also claimed I wouldn’t have been charged for a second transmission flush if I had paid them $4,000 to fix the radiator—but why would I trust them after such a botched diagnosis and scare tactics?
  
  This experience was infuriating. Midas overcharges for parts, misdiagnoses problems, pressures customers into unnecessary work, and lacks basic professionalism. I’ll never return, and I’ll be warning my friends and family to avoid Midas, especially this location.

  Extremely kind humans. All the way from the front desk to the guys in the shop. Got a flat tire right after a snow storm and was a few hundred meters from the shop, called ahead and they had me on my way with my spare tire on within 10 minutes.

  Really disappointed with this Midas location. The last 2 experiences were horrible.
  
  Went in for an oil change yesterday and the tech deemed the battery bad upon testing.
  
  So Moira at the front Desk, who has always been wonderful, recommended that I bring the car in today to re test the battery and also the alternator since they were both changed by Midas 1 year ago.
  
  I made an appointment for 9am and my wife dropped the car off at 9am and waited in the front room since we were told that it should be around 1 hour and therefore it would not be worth it to go home.
  
  The car was not brought into the shop until 3 hours later at which point she was told it will only be 40 minutes.
  From there it took another 2 hours until she got the car back.
  
  At this point she had waited for 5 hours only to be informed that everything is perfectly fine, the tests were simply performed wrong yesterday.
  She got an apology and a free oil change voucher which is good until end of February so basically useless.
  
  The other experience was towing the car to this Midas location due to a broken off sensor just to be told the tech does not feel confident removing it so having to spend more money to tow it to a different location.

  First time using Midas and the service was next level. The first impression was based off the clean shop but Moira at the counter was extremely helpful. Even Terry, the mechanic, came out and gave me a clear run down on everything before proceeding further. Was in and out pretty quickly too.

  Went in for a oil change and tire rotation.
  
  I was informed by the front desk that they were having trouble getting my wheel off of my truck and that they could not rotate my tires on the passenger side of my truck.
  
  So I asked them if they were a mechanic/tire shop, the answer was yes. So I asked the lady at the front desk, if I needed to take my truck to another mechanic/tire shop to get my tires rotated? She said that does not make sense now does it, to which I agreed.
  
  Eventually a real mechanic came and put the truck back in the air, gave the wheel a couple smacks and it popped right off.
  
  The lady at the front counter said, it's tough to even get kids out of bed these days, let a lone getting them to do their job right lol.
  
  I told her that she should probably not use that as an excuse to future customers when they get informed that the mechanics can't complete their job properly.
  
  I will not be returning to this place of business.

  This is my far the best service I have ever received. I booked an appointment that day for tire service and they where on time. Kevin M is fantastic kind and courteous and the mechanics are knowledgeable..I will never go anywhere else again

  The staff here is phenomenal, from the first call Kevin has been amazing to work with and has me returning for any vehicle issues. I had an unknown oil leak which was identified, along with an unexpected but much appreciated inspection on the whole vehicle. I’ve since returned for a variety of reasons, and with consistency Kevin, Tom, and the entire staff have always been professional and friendly. Pricing was fair, and Kevin is upfront on the recommended versus must do work - this Midas location has become my go to for any vehicle concerns, including regular maintenance.

  The BEST service ever!!! Most especially Kevin - he was very helpful especially that my car had a few issues. He made sure to walk me through properly. A living proof that good people like him really still exist in this world! He was so nice and such a warm person to talk to. All in all, Midas Whyte Ave is amazing - good service, nice people! Can't imagine going to any other place now!
