We stopped in today on our way to adopt a rescue cat because we needed supplies first. Savannah was such a help picking out the best options for our new friend.
On top of being super friendly and a delight to deal with, she had extensive knowledge on all of the products from food to litter.
She made sure we got an informational pamphlet with coupons as well that saved us almost thirty dollars during our first visit.
Both Savannah and Viktoria went above and beyond during our visit and even though it's across town from our place I think we'll keep making the trip North because of the staff.
Thank you both from all of us here including our new rescue đââŹ

Showed up right at closing time hoping to use the dog wash. Checked another stores closing time, and didn't realize they weren't all the same. Was still let in, and assured it was fine. Pretty uncommon these days to see that kind of service especially since the guy had to stay later to clean up.

Staff is good but there really needs to be a time limit on how long people can be in the dog wash for when there is a line of people waiting. Or you should be able to book it in advance for a time slot. Waiting for an hour and the person in the dog wash is shampooing thier dog for the 5th time is unreal. I have a very high anxiety dog so its already a stressful experience.... not having an idea on time and just having to wait and wait and wait and wait on someone with no time limit and having others infront of you also without a time limit isnt a good way to run business. It wasted alot of my day to stand there and wait and I ended up leaving at the time where she started shampooing the same dog for the 5th time. Time limits or booking slots need to be put in place to avoid this. I dont have time to wait hours on end for 1 person to finish washing thier dog.

Love love love!! Everyone is so nice and sweet! They greet my doggo everytime we come in for his baths! We usually do a double shampoo with a blow out and brush plus a perfume spray!!! âşď¸ Love it !! 5th time was free so that is also amazing but super easy !!

I went there and young guy with red hair assisted me, did a great job answering my questions and i even looked something up for me online without me asking just to assist. Also i was impressed with the quality of what they had there and they sure packed alot into a small shop. Quality store, quality products, quality staff. Its out of the way for me but i will be back based solely on service, all the rest i mentioned was just a plus.

Not Exactly the Motherâs Day Weekend Memory We Hoped For
Iâm writing this as a very upset mother after what should have been a simple, enjoyable outing for my daughter and her puppy turned into a stressful and disappointing experience. We called Pet Valu Namao ahead of time, asked all the right questions, and were given every reason to believe this self-wash service would be a great experience. It wasnât.
About five minutes into our bath, another customer showed up and positioned themselves uncomfortably close to the wash area. At that moment, it became clear that no one was managing the flow of the space. We had just started washing a long-haired puppyâwhich is not a quick or casual taskâand yet the staff said nothing, offered no help, and allowed the situation to become tense and awkward. It was frustrating trying to keep my daughter focused on her dog while also feeling the pressure of someone looming nearby like we were taking up too much time simply for being there.
And to be clearâthis wasnât our first time bathing our dog. We normally groom him at home or take him to a salon. We are not inexperienced, we were not wasting time, and we certainly werenât being slow. We simply expected the reasonable opportunity to clean our dog thoroughly and calmly in a space that claimed to offer exactly that.
Around the 30-minute mark, an employee finally approached to say she wasnât kicking us out, but that the self-wash is usually limited to 30 minutes. This was the very first time we were hearing about any time restriction. No one mentioned it on the phone, it wasnât brought up when we arrived, and there was no visible signage. Had we known, we wouldâve either adjusted our plansâor gone somewhere.
Instead, we were left rushing through the last part of the wash, trying to dry off a damp puppy while another dog waited just feet away, adding to the stress. The staff could have easily and kindly asked the next customer to return but they didnât. They could have at least checked in earlier to see how things were going. They didnât. The entire thing felt mismanaged and careless.
My daughter had really looked forward to this. She wanted to do something fun and special with her dogâand it turned into something rushed and upsetting. She didnât complain on the way home, but I could tell how disappointed she was. And thatâs what frustrates me most: this didnât have to happen. It wasnât about the time. It was about how we were treated.
We wonât be coming back. I truly hope the staff learns to handle these moments with more awareness and care.

Review for Pet Valu Namao (Edmonton) â Self-Wash Dog Bath
We decided to try the self-wash station at Pet Valu Namao after calling ahead and getting some great information from staff. Everything sounded perfect, and when we arrived, it initially seemed like a good experience.
About five minutes into our wash, another customer arrived and waited very closely by the wash area. It would have been helpfulâmaybe even considerateâif the staff had acknowledged that we had just started, especially since we were clearly bathing a long-haired puppy (not exactly a five-minute job). Instead, we were left to feel rushed and awkward while trying to calm a dog whoâs still learning to be groomed.
Roughly 30 minutes in, an employee came to let us know that we werenât being kicked out (which was comforting, I guess?) but that they try to limit baths to 30 minutes. This was news to us. No one mentioned a time limit on the phone or when we arrived. Had we known, we probably would have made other plansâmaybe even somewhere that values communication.
A little basic customer service would have gone a long way. Maybe next time, instead of letting the next customer hover awkwardly for half an hour, someone could kindly suggest they return a bit later? Just a thought. It was hard enough trying to comfort a nervous puppy without also feeling like we were being silently judged for existing. The tension was great for ambiance, thoughânothing like a cold stare while you towel off a damp dog.
We ended up rushing out with a wet poodle and a teen who was hoping her puppyâs first public bath would be a fun memory instead of... well, this.
Really disappointed. We expected moreâand honestly, we wonât be returning.

This is easily the best pet store in the city. Selection of food and treats are great, but the biggest difference here is the staff!! Ever since we started coming here with our dog, we get treated like VIPs every time. We get the help we need, and our pup gets so much love from everyone there. Sarah, Claudia, Torie and all the others have become such a big part of our dog's life, so we are really grateful for having this store in our neighbourhood!!
