If I could rate zero stars, I absolutely would. PetSmart and its associates clearly have no idea how to properly care for reptiles, and it genuinely makes me question their care standards for every other animal in their store.
I recently asked an associate whether a bearded dragon—one that was clearly no longer a hatchling—was male or female. Instead of answering honestly, I was told that “all their reptiles are males,” which is laughable considering I bought a bearded dragon from them two years ago that turned out to be female.
Not only did the associate not understand that you cannot sex a bearded dragon as a baby, but the manager later admitted they “have no clue” about the genders either. I mentioned the simple flashlight method used to identify sex, and she said, “I don’t think we have ever done that.” That alone says enough about their level of training.
Their reptile kits are incomplete and improper, and nothing in the store educates buyers that female bearded dragons can lay infertile eggs and are at high risk of becoming egg-bound — a potentially fatal emergency and often a $2,000 vet bill. Most new owners have no idea this can happen, because PetSmart doesn’t bother to teach the basics.
Management seems more intimidated by people who actually know what they’re talking about than interested in hiring them. It’s sad, and the animals are the ones who pay for it.

Lot of expired products on shelf. This was the second location I was at to get Applaws tuna purée some locations don’t have it. This location did the whole section was expired I pulled it out and gave to cashier let knows know chicken puree expires in 2 days as well. That section im aware not very common brand here and lot of times I’m prob very few that buys that in bulk in multiple locations. But then I went to just get a diffrent brand till I have time to go to another location a different day. And found more common brand stuff is expired too. You guys should definitely keep better eye on products as in it could be health and safety issue for our fur Babbies.

We lined up an appointment to try and find a kitten. The staff were friendly, helpful and patient as getting a pet is an important decision. Great selection of products and animals.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. The only issue I encountered was that their engraving machine has been out of order for a while now. I had to get my pets tag engraved at another location which was inconvenient.

Groomer name : Sierra! I am extremely disappointed and heartbroken after my recent experience at PetSmart’s grooming salon. I took my puppy in for a routine grooming appointment, and when I picked her up, I was horrified to discover multiple cuts on her body — including a deep cut by her eye and several others across her skin. The most alarming part is that she now has a large, swollen abscess ON her private area, which is causing her a lot of pain and distress. (Wish i could post pictures)
There is absolutely no excuse for this level of negligence when handling animals, especially young and vulnerable ones. I trusted this groomer with my puppy’s care, and she came back visibly injured and traumatized.
UPDATE : unfortunately, my puppy ended up with a yeast infection all over her body — very concerning and points to an unhygienic environment.

Hands down the worst experience I’ve ever had at a pet store. The woman with glasses working in the fish section was shockingly rude, dismissive, and downright useless. She acted like answering a simple question was some huge inconvenience, rolled her eyes, and gave off the attitude of someone who clearly hates her job — and probably her life too. If Pets Mart is okay with hiring people this miserable and unprofessional, it says a lot about their standards. Save yourself the headache and shop literally anywhere else.
