I visited the Strathcona Home Depot on March 2024 when I needed Bruce hardwood flooring that I couldn’t find anywhere in the city. I even called the US Bruce branch helpline for help. They said that you have to find the dealer in the city to make a special order. The nearest Home Depot to me refused to help me when I called. Luckily, I called Strathcona Home Depot and talked with Holly from the flooring department. She immediately called me back and went out of her way to help me. She is super helpful and very knowledgeable at her job. Ali also helped me out; he is extremely patient and talented young man. Ali actually took the time to measure every single item I provided. Thank you Holly and Ali! I would also like to thank the Strathcona Home Depot for hiring the best people.

Last week I came in to get keys cut and the staff member in charge of that section was friendly and efficient cutting the many keys I needed.
Right now the parking lot is a mess as there is construction happening on the lot.
They have one cashier for customer returns, now there is “assisted” check out stations where 1 staff member basically watches you as you check out your products. There is nothing wrong with that but looking over your shoulder, THAT I found very irritating.
I get it, there is product theft but if that is a concern then hire a security guard to stand at the entrance or have more staff available.
Don’t hover over your paying customers as they ring in their products. It’s bad manners and irritating to have someone looking over your shoulder.
Bring back cashiers, they are the last representatives of your company that your customers interact with before leaving and most times as a customer you make a decision whether you will be back to a store based on this last interaction.
A great cashier not only deals with the transaction at hand, they provide that last crucial interaction with the customer.
A cashier gives a one-on-one service and can dissuade a dissatisfied customer and change a negative in-store experience to a pleasant one .
In my opinion, cashiers are the gate keepers and when they truly shine at their job customers will leave happily after that last interaction.
I’ve come here several times and it’s often hard to find a staff member right away but once found I’ve received good service .
I give the man in the key cutting section 5 ⭐️ for his customer service and very personable manner and the store 3⭐️ because I find the “assisted” checkout at the end irritating and on the day I shopped the entrance/exit to the store was very cluttered and messy.

Picked up some interior paint. The sales person explained in detail the type of paint, and how to apply it. The price is reasonable and the paint was ready in 5-7mins.
