I recently rented a 2023 Chevy Malibu from Budget/AVIS Car Rentals booth in Fort McMurray and had an extremely disappointing experience. During my rental period, the car was broken into and rummaged through, resulting in the theft of the car manual as well as numerous belongings. When I approached the staff about the missing manual, I was asked if I had a phone. Upon confirming that I did, I was told to “Google it.” This response was condescending and unacceptable, especially considering I had paid approximately $600 for a 4-day rental.
Additionally, when I arrived to pick up the car, the budget/AVIS service desk appeared unmanned as the staff member, Nadeem M was in the back room. On the day of the car drop-off, I called the local AVIS number five times without any answer. To make matters worse, I witnessed Nadeem entering a rental car in the parking lot while smoking a cigarette on November 18th, despite the car rentals being non-smoking.
This level of service is far below what I expect from a reputable company. I am very upset with this level of service during this especially stressful and trying time.

Rented the car and found of a bunch of drugs in the car... Apparently the car was impounded then rented to me. Had my kids in the car and could of got arrested... Not impressed.

I was speaking to budget 3 times before leaving fort mcmurray alberta to Halifax ns via plane asked them are you sure when I get to Halifax airport there is going to be no problem with visa debit got there after a 14 hour flight bc of layovers totally exhausted and every representative told me everything would be ok but when I got there everything was different apparently they are different company from other budget rentals and didnt except visa debit had to be in Sydney ns for my sister inlaw wake /funeral my husband literally missed his baby sisters wake bc of this and we told them what we were going home for and they didn't care kinda funny u can book a plane with visa debit and in Sydney ns u can use visa debit with a return flight but not Halifax ns we will never forget this experience they left us in a big jam especially 5 hours from capebreton and had to be home for family service that we never got to by the time we got home we were totally exhausted pretty much 3 days no sleep bc we had to sit in airport for 14 hours to wait for bus on top of traveling budget really needs to get with the times seriously I will never trust them again and they took so much time from me and my family

At this location they make the ruler on the spot and not much help. Overpriced, dirty cars, rudeness. Go to Enterprise than getting a rental car from this location.

This morning March 29th, 2023, I booked a two day rental car from this company Budget rental in Fortmcmurray, AB, when I went there to pickup the car, the guy who was there was extremely rude and un professional, I didn't feel welcome at All, he asked me my driver license and credit card, I gave it to him and he said are you staying in Town or you are going out of Town, I said to him I'm going to Edmonton, he said you have 200 free km, after that we charged you 24 cents per kilometer! I said I'm traveling to Edmonton? He said that's our policy ! I immediately told him cancel my reservation, I was very bissed, next door to them is enterprise rental car, they welcomed me and told me that they give me unlimited km! I was like what!! Really! He said yes, I will never rent any car from budget ever I'm my life again. What a horrible experience that was.

Very bad service and will never use it again. Be care for if you will return the rent car in advance, they will NOT give you the refund from your pre-payment.

I had an absolutely amazing customer service experience with the Enterprise counter clerk. This lady did everything possible to try and help me sort out my car rental issue. Why am I writing a great review about Enterprise on a Budget review page you ask? Well I'm hoping that Budget will take note because their customer service sucks. Between no one answering the phone at the airport location, poor counter service and the clerk saying that sometimes they answer the phone. I Would have to say that Budget needs to greatly step up their customer service game. BTW did I mention how great Enterprise was? In case I did not ENTERPRISE was amazing.

Totally never ever gonna reant a car from any budget again. Will do Enterprise next time I have spent alot of money with Budget never another dime..Fort McMurray location should be shut down embarrassing to of even stood in front of counter. I was so talked to disrespectfully and will never let that happen again....

I picked up my rental and it was at full with gas. I drove maybe 20 km and stopped and filled it back-up to the full line before dropping it off. I was charged $28 in gas as the cleaning attendant "filled it until no more gas could be put into the tank" I was told. I was scammed out of $28 for maybe a few litres of gas pass the full line.

Way overpriced, staff are not helpful, and they have a separate charge for every single thing so it ends up being about 3x what I payed at Enterprise last time I rented. Anywhere is better.

Common complaint against the front desk, impossible to contact the location by phone as no one will ever pick up. Would hate to run into an issue on the road and not be able to call the location.

Made reservations over the phone the next morning picked up a SUV. Everyone that we dealt with were super awesome. Thank you to all of you great job. The airport rental was almost twice as much as budget. Wish I had contacted them earlier could have saved a bunch . Happy trails up here in Fort Mcmurray

Customer service was awful. Tried to retrieve and invoice after I was not given one upon my rental return, and it took me 2 days to finally resolve the problem. The female staff member at the counter was very unhelpful.
