About Fort Vermilion Heritage Centre
The Fort Vermilion Heritage Centre is Mackenzie County's premier site of historical preservation. It offers a nice look into history with artifacts over two centuries old, two onsite heritage houses, and an archives. Visitors receive very informative and humorous guided tours that are never boring. The museum features exhibits including "Trappers Rendezvous," "Weyiman Waskahikun Wehkohkewin," "58° North and Farming," and "Fort Vermilion and the Fur Trade." Children are able to play a detective game during their visit. The old heritage buildings next to the museum are also shown and one can serve as an escape room. The experience is heart-warming and an experience that guests talk about long after. The museum and the work there can be recommended without reservation and it is definitely worth a visit.

The staff at the museum was super knowledgeable and very helpful. There is mini golf in the summer and a historically themed escape house that was really fun for all ages.
