I recently visited Freson Bros in Hinton, AB, and it was a delightful experience. Freson Bros has been around since 1955, and they clearly take pride in creating a warm, family-centered atmosphere that makes you feel right at home.
The combo meal is an incredible value at $14 CAD per person. It includes a main item with two sides, and you can serve yourself—perfect for those who appreciate generous portions. We chose the fish fry as our main, accompanied by sides of fresh vegetables and crispy fries. The food was well-prepared, and it’s clear they focus on quality ingredients.
One of the highlights is the free coffee, a thoughtful touch that adds to the welcoming vibe of the restaurant. With their emphasis on family, community, and quality food, Freson Bros is more than just a place to eat—it’s a gathering spot for sharing moments with loved ones.
If you’re in Hinton and looking for a hearty, reasonably priced meal in a cozy, community-centered setting, I highly recommend Freson Bros. Great food, great portions, and a fantastic experience overall!

Fresno Bros is nice store but service in the food court is disgusting, workers was unfriendly and rude (Asian ladies). At 3 pm regular coffee was unavailable, free ice cream for kids (as we see sign) was unavailable because ice cream machine didn’t work (from their words). For all our questions food court workers didn’t want to answer nicely (all prepared hot food didn’t have name or description). Quality of food is not worth it because it is overcooked, dry and not fresh.
Never again

I live in Edmonton, so I have 4 Freson Bros locations available to me, and I'm pretty sure they all have a butcher counter, but this location does not. We stopped by here to grab some pre-marinated meats like we do back home to take to our campsite for dinner but found NOTHING, and we couldn't find the butcher counter. All was not lost as we stocked up on their in-house jerky. I love the size of this store. To be honest my 1st visit ever to a Freson Bros was in 2016 on a Christmas trip to Jasper we stopped for some snacks from our hotel room and I discovered their gluten free selection and I was in Celiac Heaven. We didn't have much time to spend that 1st night but did atop on our way home so I could just go crazy.

There muffins are dry and taste like dirt. And there pies are terrible! And overpriced. I would love to support local but your prices are outrageous.

Great groceries (some things may be a tiny bit more pricey) worth a hot food area where you can sit.
They also allow overnight RV camping. If you stop, combine the two.

When we talk about abuse, we can say Freson Brothers.
Everything was overpriced!!! I don't know how the Canadian government allows this abuse to happen.
