We’ve tried numerous other brands of pellets for our stove and finally found the best from La Crete. They burn hotter at lower settings and the clinker and ash has dropped significantly. The glass on the door stays cleaner a lot longer than any other pellets we’ve used. Will definitely be using La Crete pellets from now on.

These pellets since they are from Spruce rather than Douglas fir have more ash and leave a very hard substance on the trap door of my fire pot that needs to be chiseled off.Not sure if the pellets are older or were mishandled because I have lost a considerable amount of fuel to saw dust or crumpled pellets.

They do burn hot, but they leave a lot of asstove every 2 weeks. La Crete pellets need to be cleaned out 3-4 days.

As these pellets are not consistently available in my area I have only been able to use them when they are available. I prefer them to all other brands I have used to date and an considering physically driving 250 km one way to pick up a heating season's worth [5 pallets] of pellets next year. They are just that good, clean burning, no clinker build up and the stove glass stays cleaner, longer.
