I was the owner of Liberty Tax up until 2022, I then sold the business for health reasons. This year I was working a full time job, attending school and working remotely to help the new owner until a suitable replacement can be found to take my place. I was finding that I was having some trouble with memory and other issues. I chalked it up to all I had going on. After tax season I seen my dr and found out I had an illness causing these issues. I apologize to any customers that suffered due to this. The new owner and the current staff worked very hard this tax season. They were all new and learning so yes there were a few ups and downs but this office will always strive to provide the best customer service possible, with as little error as possible. We are not perfect but we try are very best. Keep up the good work ?

This is not the same company of years gone by. The phone number is changed, along with the hours, and the communication, the voicemail went from a man's voice, to that of a woman. I have stopped by the office during their 08:30-3:30 pm business hours, just to find them closed.
First off, my complaint is with Susan Fisher, who works remotely, on the more complicated tax returns.
I had put my taxes in with this company because of previous year recommendation. But in the time I gave my tax info, April 24, and the time I pulled them, May 9, I had received only three returned calls, and those calls from the friendly local staff (I have no complaint about the ladies in the office). But had not one communication from Susan Fisher, the tax preparer that was supposed to be working on my case. When I finally got an email from her, it was in response to me telling her I don't want her doing my tax return.
Her response "We prioritize to complete current year returns and then self employed/ Business for current years and those that choose not to file for several years at a time are always done last. Yes communication could have happened sooner, not just on our part but yours as well.. Also it was this past Monday that I was asked to email you, but as I said this is still a very busy time for me and it sometimes takes a week."
While she may be very busy, and overwhelmed, there is no excuse for not taking two minutes to send a client an email of explanation. They DID have my email, I opened an account online with it, and she had all my documents I uploaded. In addition, Susan said I also hadn't communicated, despite my phone records showing at least 10 calls, and this was the FIRST time I had heard from her.
Later, from a close friend, I heard that Susan was still working on her return that they had turned in sometime in March. This seems to be the new pattern. I pulled my taxes and went to Kimberley Scott at H&R Block, in Lacombe. She had all four years of taxes done in four hours, on the same day as I brought them to her.

I've used Liberty in Lacombe a few times over the years. Always very happy with the service. Always a job well done. The ladies are so friendly and easy going. I'll continue to use them whenever my taxes are too complicated for me to do myself.

I used Liberty Tax in Red Deer for a number of years but then decided to keep my business local in Lacombe. I used two other tax offices in recent years and each one charged considerably more each year. I finally saw a Liberty tax office in Lacombe and decided to go back there since they gave me such great customer service in the past. How pleasantly surprised I was to find that the bill was no more than I used to pay a number of years ago.
