In another example of corporate greed rearing its ugly head, Safeway no longer makes their fruit trays fresh, instead choosing to outsource their production to save a buck. Because of this, you typically won't find a fruit tray made in the last day or two, and in most instances, the fruit trays being sold are 4-5 days old.
As a diabetic, the sugar content expands exponentially when the fruit sits and ages for days making it no longer an option for me. The management have told me that they can specifically make one to order, but even that is disputed half the time depending on who you talk to, and is an extra inconvenience when the status quo of fresh fruit trays would have sufficed in the first place .
I used to do my grocery shopping at Safeway exclusively, but due to the head-scratching decisions to improve profits at the expense of quality have left me no choice but to shop elsewhere.

No tills open and only self checkout tills available. So they’re saving money by not paying employees and I see none of those savings. This is why I stop coming here and go to the other stores who have better service

Newly renovated Safeway, fresh produce and well stocked for grocery needs, price can be higher than others depending on what you are looking for, but they have things go on sale all the time. Did I mention you can buy fresh flowers here too!!

My go place to go to as close to work. Staff is always friendly. Just not before 8am as they only have self check ou available, if you use cash.
