This is the second time we have used House Of Cars but the second experience we felt was disappointing.
We had gone to Mitsibishi to get the car from House of Cars serviced, as we had to go back a couple of times to have things changed and concerned there might be other issues and wanted to make sure all was ok with the car as we had a big road trip. We were told by them our supposedly new tires were not good.
On top of that we have just had our winter tires put on at a different garage and they expressed how bad our tires were and said they were not remountable!!! We have only had the car since July!
We have had the winter tires longer and still good wear.
Both companies have expressed that they have heard a number of negative comments about House of Cars.
Be very careful!!
Six days later and haven't heard anything back as expressed in the response below and no messages left. We are moving on.
Today, the General Manager, Hutch, reached out to me, 29th Oct, and is willing to rectify the situation at no extra expense.

Ryan helped me out immediately and figured out all the finances and what car would work best for my situation. He clearly communicated everything to me and my sister and made sure we understood exactly what was happening 100% of the process. I have a complicated credit history but Ryan stuck it out and found a way to find me a vehicle with low payments. The cherry on top was he registered it for me and filled it up with gas.
I highly recommend speaking with House of Cars if you’re looking at getting a used vehicle, regardless of your past they will be very transparent with you and do everything they can to make things work.
This was my first time getting a car from a dealership and I’m very happy with my new Chevy Spark!

The staff was very nice but unable to help me as everyone had previous appointments. I was told the finance manager would help me shortly. I left over twenty minutes later having not been helped and never laying eyes on the elusive finance manager.

Against my better judgement due to a bad experience the first time around with being sold a car with NO OIL IN IT and interior looking like someone projectile vomited everywhere and then no responses for 6 months when I gave them to opportunity to rectify the situation, I tried to give these guys a second chance. So far, I've been ignored almost every time I try to communicate and given the same answer that I have an approval BUT they're trying to find a car that will work with the negative equity on my trade in. Was told I'd hear back regarding options 5 days ago. Never heard back. Communicating with your customers isn't difficult. Even if you don't have a solid answer the least you could do is respond when a customer reaches out. Make sure if you buy a vehicle from them that you talk about a warranty cuz 90% of their vehicles have something wrong with them and I personally was never offered a warranty with the first vehicle (against AMVIC standards to not offer customers a warranty.)
Edited: in response to the cocky and condescending reply from the owner....
1) I still have photos of when the vehicle was delivered to me looking like there was vomit everywhere. 2) the check engine light wasn't 'new' I had spoken to you about it a year previously when, yes, you did have it detailed and given an oil change. The techs literally cleared the code and that's it as it came back on as I was driving away from picking it up. 3) you didn't offer to do a damn thing other than give me a better deal on parts and labour instead of taking accountability for selling me a POS. 4)the entire original deal was done online and I was NEVER offered a warranty. You only offered to SELL me one after the fact. 5) I reached out for months and months before I finally got ahold of you so stop trying to justify the actions previously. I have proof of texts, calls, emails, and even Facebook Messenger messages being ignored for 6 months. 6) I have video proof of the engine being completely void of any and all oil within 2 months of me purchasing the vehicle. There are no leaks and it doesn't not burn oil so there is no way in hell it was given an oil change before being sold to me. 7) you're ENITRE response was irrelevant to the point of my review and none of what you just blabbered on about was relevant to what I said. Your salesperson who I was in contact with for the last 3 weeks has ignored almost every request for an update and only repeats himself when he DOES respond. I was told he had an approval and was just trying to find a vehicle that would carry the negative equity and then just stopped responding altogether. One minute he said my current vehicle was worth 10,000 then in less than a week it went down to 9,000. I waited until AFTER I had given this shady, lying, snarky company a second chance.It's quite clear none of you have a clue what you're talking about and should not be in customer service based careers. Just by the way you speak to customers alone should be enough for you to realize that. The review will never be removed.

My experience with House of Cars Lethbridge was definitely a roller coaster - spoiler alert - in the end I came out super happy with my Jetta!
It started with me wanting to buy a Subaru Impreza. The car looked super cute in the pictures and the AMVIC had minimal issues. I was on the fence but the sales associate that I worked with told me that another couple was just about to test drive it and if I put a deposit down on it I could secure it for 24 hours while I thought about it - common sales tactic I later learnt and I admit I fell for it.
I ended up deciding to buy the car but it had some minor repairs that needed to be completed. I was initially told less than a week. I was also told that I needed to register it in SK ASAP. Fun fact for an out of province vehicle, you can only get a 28 day conditional registration. The repairs ended up taking over 2 weeks and by the time my car was delivered, 3 weeks had gone by since the day I registered it, and it showed up without working A/C - in July. So I had a week to get it safetied. Well it FAILED the safety horribly. The mechanic who did it actually told me not to drive it with my daughter in the vehicle. It was so rusted out that it would’ve costed a minimum of 9000$ (on a 12000$ car) to have it even considered passable for a SK safety.
I called the dealership in tears. I felt so screwed over and like I had just lost 12000$. Immediately they were receptive and kind. My sales associate was so empathetic and immediately linked me up with the manager.
At this point I was skeptical and I’ll admit, definitely not the easiest to deal with. However, they listened to me and were determined to make things right. I gave them a very specific list of my “car wants”. Within a week they found my Jetta.
We exchanged the Subaru for the Jetta and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. It’s an amazing car and we were able to get it to pass its SK safety with minimal fixes.
Throughout this whole ordeal, they regularly kept in touch with me to update me on the process and were always receptive and consistently assured me that I would come out of this with the kind of car I was expecting, within my budget.
They went above and beyond to ensure that my Jetta would pass its SK safety, going so far as to have a mock safety inspection done by a 3rd party mechanic. I should also note that the minor fixes that “failed” the jettas first safety inspection were a little ridiculous, but easily fixable.
Yes - the journey was a bit rocky but House of Cars Lethbridge really has some good honest people working for them who did everything they could to make things right and sell me a solid, safe reliable vehicle that I just absolutely love.

This is the second time I've bought a vehicle from the house of cars, however this time was better. The salesman Ryan Towers went above and beyond for my purchase. I won't deal with anyone else ever again. He made this purchase painless and stress free, which in this day and age is invaluable. Thank you Ryan for being the most considerate and caring person I've ever dealt with, a true testament to the quality of service this industry severely needs.
