Profiled and refused to give my indigenous mother her money in the form of cash and bank draft from her Scotia bank account. The male manager and his lady gooney refused to serve my mother due to her having a BC and Saskatchewan drivers licences, and a Scotia CC for ID. They told her she didn’t have enough ID and asked her what the money was going to be used for. These people humiliated my mom in public, inferring she was committing fraud and withheld access to the money in a bank account she has had for over 30 years. Don’t trust this bank with your money, especially if you’re Indigenous as they discriminate and make assumptions based on racism.
My mom returned the next day with a friend for support and closed her account, got all her money and moved to BMO.

Habe tried to deal with this branch more than once. Good luck getting service. It was a two day wait to get an appointment to apply for a mortgage. Today stood in line for 20 minutes with one perwon ahead of me and one teller open (and eventually just left). The other person working there couldn't be bothered to even greet me much less assist.the ATMs don't work properly, they don't count half of the bills you out in and spits them out as "rejected'. Today the touch screens stopped working and I couldn't even cancel the transaction andnhad to stamd there waitimg for it to time out (twice). Useless.

Never get a vehicle loan through this bank. I paid off a couple vehicles and needed a Lien release letter and thisPlace won’t do one in person and there’s “no one that can do it at the branch”. It’s a letter with their letterhead on it confirming the loans paid. Pretty simple. I will always take a different bank over this one.

If I manage to stop one person from getting a Scotiabank account, I'm Happy!!Would I recommend? Absolutely not! Will you be treated like a number? Count on it!Is your Privacy and Security important? Not to scotiabank. When I call what's the wait times like? 45-120 minutes!!When I go in, What's the wait time? 30-45 minutes. If you want further details, keep reading...I opened my very first account with Scotiabank 15 ish years ago. At the time I signed up, I was never once told my privacy and security would be not very private or secure. I have caught Scotiabank giving away my personal information now twice. My credit card number is not yours to give away!!I have attempted to speak to the Branch Manager Grace O, however, was denied an appointment time because "she's in meetings" or "My issues can't be dealt with at the branch level." I turned to the office of the President... 45 days later I'm given an extremely long-winded explanation and a complete denial of everything that has happened. The teller made it very clear to me the branch manager would not see me. Scotiabank HQ denies this. I wrote here that I attempted three times to get in touch, you know about my complaint... isn't it up to you to get in touch with me now Grace?? Are you to important for those who don't have millions in the bank or is your roll to big for you? When I went in the other day to replace my card, there was two tellers (plus two empty stations) and 4 customers in line. 36 minutes to get a new card, I timed it! I was not asked for ID so i self-produced it and she didn't even look at it. I was made aware that the Office of the President was questioning so i am fully aware that Scotiabank Lloydminster knows.I want nothing more than to close my accounts and use another bank, however I'm stuck with existing debt and so I'm forced to deal with it. Personal account numbers, balances, and intimate account details are supposed to be protected as Scotiabank is recognized as a federally regulated institute. The funny thing is, this all started because of a faulty ATM machine.

So I went into this branch of Scotiabank in Lloydminster AB today 13th August 2022, met a nice young lady at the counter, I requested to withdraw $5900usd which she told me was available. A black lady walked up named, Grace and said she was the manager, said such amount wasn't available, I pleaded with her that I have been calling the branch and no one was picking up. She suggested I take a draft instead, I agreed & told her I was going to make the deposit at TD. Took them abt 30 plus minutes to raise the draft and later told me they are having issues and they want to start making another draft. This was about 5 minutes to 4pm when TD bank closes to customers. At this point I was very frustrated as I had driven from unity, a rural area of Saskatchewan, about 140km from Lloydminster. This was 1 minute to 4pm almost time for TD to close to customers. At this point, she now agreed to give me the complete cash that wasn't available earlier. She ended up ruining my saturday. That was about the most horrible customer service I have ever seen.

I always get the great service and care I expect and more. I love this bank. Keep up all the kindness! It is so nice to see in the midst of the grouchiness of the pandemic. Thank-you.

Don't expect a call back from them. Went into start the process of switching our mortgage to them so we could just deal with one bank for everything but after dealing with a certain associate and starting the paper work, she stopped returning our calls and emails. To this day we have yet to have her return a call or email so we said screw it and didn't switch nor will we ever deal with this bank again. If we didn't fit their criteria or hold a big enough mortgage to justify her time then she could of not our wasted our time the day we went in. Ignorant and not professional by any means!

I spent over 45 mins calling every min trying to get a hold of the branch manger. Never did get a hold of him only to find out that he left the branch early so I wasted 45 mins calling. I am really thinking leaving Scotia bank because of this.
