Produce quality has gone downhill the last few years, and meat selection isn't the greatest. Staff are helpful though, and there are generally lots of tills open for a quick checkout.

My girlfriend and I shop here on a regular basis and several check out women have been super rude and unprofessional, one of them is apparently a night manager?
At this point I feel like it's racially motivated harassment.
The "night manager" didn't know how to bag glass pop bottles the one night and was being very strange.. we asked her to please put something in between the bottles so they wouldn't smash together in transit and she began to dramatically bag each individual cane sugar pop bottle (aprox 8) into these giant paper bags and stuff them into another huge paper bag (then told us she'd have to charge us for the bags) we were then followed out to our car by a sobeys employees husband who was drunk or something and got up in my girlfriend and my face and spoke some words about the night manager and his wifes behavior because he noticed what had happened in the store.
The last time I went into the store I asked the check out guy and the bagger lady to please leave the French bread out just like I have to say every time or they will squish the heck out of it and then the check out lady started asking me if I'd like each individual item left out as they came across the scanner, it was very strange behavior and it has been increasing upon each visit ? 0 Stars

It's a good store, produce usually very good. The pricing is just on the steep side. I only go there if there is an excellent sale on something I want or need.

I decided to stop in at Shelby's to grab something quick for lunch. Grabbed an egg salad sandwich, that was $7. To grab a very small pineapple and strawberry mix, $6, and I bought a lemonade drink almost $4. I get to the till, had to stand and wait for the employee to finish wiping it down. Then she comes back to serve me, does not say hi, how are you or anything like that. Christie's to scan my things, and the only thing she says to me, do you need a bag. I said no thank you, for seated back to my vehicle open up my egg salad sandwich, and this is what I find for $7. Will be my first, and last time going to Sobeys to grab anything. A little bit of fruit, a sandwich made terribly, and a drink, totaling 16.00.
