Friendly staff and smooth transaction. Made for a stress free visit. CIBC needs a location in Drayton Valley though so clients don’t have to drive over an hour away.

Super slow customer service. I was not impressed in the efficiency that their bank does business. Trying to close my father’s account was a painful experience compared to other institutions.

Went in to verify CIBC Visa account balance and inquire about e-billing on June 28/19 at around 1:00pm. Was subjected to some below average customer service by an older lady who seemed very uninterested in helping me. She told me she could not help me with e-billing and all my business was to be conducted through Visa directly.(No offer of a phone number or email...just a very vague and indirect "call Visa") Asked for a simple balance inquiry and once again she told me to contact Visa even though I have been in this particular branch several times previously to inquire about my account balance. Once I informed her that fact, she then told me (in a very snooty tone) I owe around $1200....(which actually turned out to be 1290 and change...just needed my balance so I could pay it off as I was no longer receiving a physical bill...hence why I was inquiring about e-billing). Obviously has the information right in front of her but she was unwilling to share with me and appeared as though I was a burden to her. The branch wasn't even busy. I felt very unwelcome at that particular moment. I guess the fact my credit card is a CIBC card, whom you contact CIBC to activate, receive statements from CIBC and furthermore also has a CIBC customer service 1-800 number on the back..and it was issued DIRECTLY through the Onoway branch means nothing. There is another bank in town right across the street that seemed very willing to help me out in any way possible. Once my new credit card arrives, I will be cancelling my CIBC card and conducting all my future business across the street.
