Reserved a compact car and was given a minivan, bec it is all they had. I do not feel safe driving it due to its large size. I called the Avis number but was met with hostility and told there was nothing they could do. I asked if they could look at other locations that might have inventory but they refused.

If u want waste your money go and book your car with this location. And always be ready for unnecessary charges . Better go with enterprise but never ever this location .

Unless you want to get ripped off for $180 don’t call here. It was in tiny print that they charge $180 just for reserving the vehicle. I’ll never go back. Even the lady at the front desk said they should not have done that and we should not have been charged anything till we showed up to pick up the vehicle.

Had the unfortunate experience of our wheel bearings goin' mid-trip to Edmonton to see our family. Waiting 6 hours for our car to be finished, while missing out on family time didn't make sense (when we would also be spending more than a rental would cost us while waiting!!) 🤣
I called and Spoke to Dianne who was lovely, and she SO quickly set us up for a last-minute rental car for the weekend. She also provided very helpful advice about booking + return times, and we're so grateful she picked up.
We actually ended up not needing a rental, after the also lovely mechanics rushed our car, and we were willing to wait the 2 hours instead. I called to cancel and got Dianne again; completely understanding, she cancelled our booking & wished us safe travels.
Thank you Dianne for the amazing service. We will think of Avis for any future Red Deer rental needs (but hopefully we don't need to?!)

I just had the most horrible ,awful and worst experience with Avis at Quality Inn Hotel. I booked a car few weeks ago and made hotels reservations for my trip to BC and showed up today to pick up my car and was told that my driver license won't scan through their little scan machine because it has a tape on it and it won't pick up the barcode. So because of this little stupid issue they won't rent me a car and therfore my trip is all ruined. I talked to the manager over the phone and he can't help at all and kept saying no we can't we can't we can't. A manager who can't manage these little technical issues and bypass the machine is not worth called a manager. Bottom line ,if you decide to rent a car stay away from Avis because they can't help you and their customer service is really bad. Save your time and money

I recently had a disappointing experience with Avis at the Quality Inn Hotel. The booking was under my friend's name, so both of us went to the front desk to clarify an overcharge on our two-day booking. When I tried to explain the situation, Christie, who was working at the front desk, was extremely disrespectful and told me to "shut up," insisting she would only speak with the primary driver.
Her rude and unprofessional behavior was shocking. Instead of assisting us, she handed us a number to call and refused to provide any further help. This lack of customer service is unacceptable.
Having crew members like Christie will only ruin their business, as such behavior drives customers away. I expected better from a reputable company like Avis. I hope they address this issue and improve their customer service in the future.

Renting car was no problem but we forgot purse in the car and we had to call many times just to fill the lost item form. I wrote email but there were no reply. Employee from red deer only said there are nothing they can do about it. It is unacceptable that they put zero effort in looking for item in the car and ignored my email. There mere important documents in it!
Please don’t reply to me with the same old copy and paste sentence.

They didn't want to rent me a car because I didn't have a physical VISA card. It had all the data and I could use it with the Garmin Pay.

Amazing experience. Customer rep was professional courteous and fast. Noticed some minor damage to a trunk fastener on the interior and she changed the damage slip on the fly. Got me to the airport on time and safely. Thanks Avis Red Deer!!!

When our car broke down in Red Deer we were left with no option but to rent a car to get home over 2 hours away. We rented said car at approximately 4:00 PM. We asked the staff who were working, both of whom were very helpful in explaining the car rental process, conditions, etc what the absolute latest deadline we could have the car back to not be charged for another day, if and when our car was fixed and able to be picked up. They told us as long as we had it back by 8:00 PM the following day we would not be charged for the second day. After we found out our car was fixed the next day, we called the agency to confirm that if we had the car back by 8 we wouldn’t charged for the second day. It was confirmed over the phone that this would be honoured. We returned the car at around 7:30 PM to the rental agency after rushing to get there on time after both of us worked that day. We rushed there to try to save money on renting a car for another day as the tow truck bill and repair bill for our car were costly. After dropping the car off, we discovered they had charged us for 2 full days despite the deal we had been told. When attempting to resolve this with the manager, he was incredibly rude and unprofessional is his demeanour. This man should NOT be in customer service as he is a very ignorant and rude human being. He speaks in a condescending and bullying manner. We made a rushed, over 4 hour round trip for nothing! Had we known we’d be charged anyway we could have made the trip the next day when we both had the day off and wouldn’t have had to rush so much. So much for trying to save money. I absolutely recommend you rent elsewhere.

I didn't have the best experience with my rental but the owner rectified it immediately. I would recommend Avis for anyone looking for a rental. Customer service was great! I would rent from Avis again. Thanks for your quick response Ronald.

Awesome job by Krista and her trainee for getting us on the road Saturday, in brutal winter conditions. Then more great service from the gal working Sunday who showed our family of 5 warmth and compassion, not to mention speedy, efficient service! Well done by Avis for hiring excellent folks in Red Deer!
