DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM - THEY DO NOT HAVE CARS.I was attempting to book a rental car online with them, just to find out over the phone that they do not have any vehicles available. So, their online booking is very misleading. Luckily, I was flexible in my traveling plans otherwise this mistake could have gotten very expensive for me. I would stay away from them, especially if you are looking for a reliable rental car company.

You can't expect a car from the Avis, they are not reliable. Booked a car, got text message and email confirmations to find out that there are no cars when I arrived. Ended up with ruined weekend plans + wasted time and money on UberP.S. That will be a photo of your car if you decide to book from them

I wish i could give this place a 0 star, worst customer service, i called about inquiring a 15 passenger, the guy would not listen at all just kept on cutting me off as im trying to speak. He is trying to charge me for a long weekend monday when they are closed but that is when i return from the trip, how is it fair that i have to pay for an extra day when im back on that monday long weekend. I even offered to drop the keys off at his place on that monday,the guy hung up on me. If you cant handle a customer service job, do yourself and everyone else a favour and look for a new career.

Absolutely Fantastic! Won't ever book with Enterprise again. They actually took my booking then called to advise they had no cars available. Ronald at the Red Deer Avis location deserves a Raise! He understood our situation and did wonders to assist with a rental in a couple of hours. Clean car. Very clear instructions and a professional attitude with a sense of humor. So many could learn a lot from him. Thank you for saving the day, Ronald! Highly, highly recommend!!

I had a very good experience. Joy was very helpful and friendly at the service counter and got me into a vehicle quickly and even helped me to remove groceries when it was time to return it and helped put them in my other vehicle. Pretty great service !

I needed a rental for a day to go to Calgary amazing customer service and such a smooth transaction. Very please with the suv they lent me it drove super super nice and was pretty new still had the new smell? I would definitely use their service again. you won’t be sorry you went with Avis

The gal working the desk when we picked up our rental could not seem to get rid of us quick enough. Asked a few questions and got no answers..I learned more by googling the question right in front of her...the second we got the keys she IMMEDIATELY flipped the CLOSED sign. We had made reservations online weeks prior. She couldn't tell us which car we were to drive..just said it's a ...& named the car...we were NOT familiar with the model or car so asked her twice & for the color...we found the car by using the remote...nice NON customer service from that particular front desk gal we met. No conversation..no smile...she OBVIOUSLY does NOT love her job..it was more than obvious. Such a non friendly individual should NOT be working frontlines with the public. We were so happy on our way to the airport heading for the Caribbean for a few months but she sure dampened our spirits that morning for a while. Get her OFF that front desk..she DOESN'T want to be there.

Worst customer service ever. My daughter missed out on an important event because she rented a car that wasn’t there when she got there. The rep said she called to let her know but yet we have no missed calls or voice message. We got a confirmation email so why not a cancellation one??A follow up phone call would have done miracles but she has no time to call people twice was her answer. The manager was of no help at all since I could not hear her properly and she told me she wasn’t going to yell when I voiced my concern of not hearing her. I was totally upset obviously as the rep just simply didn’t care. I wasted gas, drove over an hour and my daughter lost a moment she can never get again and no empathy what soever from the rep. Not her problem attitude from the get go. I lost my temper due to the lack of interest we were shown. I can see by the reviews that it’s a reoccurring event. I will never rent a car from there again and will make sure to discourage anyone I know to do so. Thanks for nothing AVIS Red Deer.

Do not rent from this location. Rented a car last minute but there were still plenty of cars left on the website. I live outside of red deer so had to get a ride from my mom to red deer to pick up the car. Get to Avis and the receptionist tells me she called me and left a voicemail to let me know a car was not available at this time. I can guarantee I did not get a call or voicemail and my number on the application was correct. Obviously I rented a car because I had some place to be, not because I wanted to park it in my driveway for the night! and the receptionist had absolutely no sympathy whatsoever. Her response “well I called so I don’t know what to say”. My mom then came in to find out what was going on, and obviously we were very annoyed at the situation because we had driven all the way to red deer to be told there was no car and that they had “called and left a voicemail”. She then got her manager on the phone and the manager told us she would not rent us a car because she did not like our attitudes which made no sense cuz they have no cars to BEGIN WITH!!!!! Terrible terrible TERRIBLE customer service from both the receptionist AND manager. You should really consider restructuring your business w better employees ASAP!!!!!

I paid 2 months in advance $700 I reserved a full size car. I personally hate SUVs. What did I get when I arrived for my 'guaranteed' reservation? An SUV I didn't want. Of course due to vehicle shortages I'm stuck with no options. People want what they pay for. The local staff is rude. When I tried to review my paper work prior to initialing they pulled it away from me and proceeded to talk over me and how I was getting an upgrade. In who's eyes ? Trash service. You can take a reservation you just can't keep it.

Please consider using a different Rental Company. Rented a car, drove off the lot in Red Deer, and car broke down in Innisfail in minus 25 weather. Not only was I charged for a full day rate, they also charged me for the tow back to Red Deer! Working with these folks to try to rectify, they were ignorant and very rude! What a joke! Please whatever you do, steer clear of this Avis branch!

Do not use this location. This is the second time I have prepaid a reservation to guarantee a vehicle, to get dropped off and find they have no vehicles to rent. Then it’s 3-10 days to get a refund. Only to have to waste more money and cab down to Enterprise.

Do not rent here, employee can’t help you with anything. 200km per day limited or the overcharge and don’t know the rate (is it .13 cents .14 cents or .15 cents). You can’t even drive to Edmonton and mileage will be maxed out!
