I keep wanting to like this place, partly to support Canadian, but it keeps making that difficult.
The two reviews posted earlier are from people on our team, and after hearing the same issues come up internally, it’s clear this isn’t a one-off. Help is hard to find, and follow-through is even harder.
Credit where it’s due, the older gentleman in key cutting who usually wears a ball cap is consistently friendly and helpful, which makes him the exception.
At some point you stop hoping things improve and just change suppliers. That’s where we’re at.

Not a great experience.
Stopped in for what should’ve been a quick, routine pickup and spent more time than I should have trying to track someone down for help. When I finally did, I was told the saw was broken and basically advised to work around it myself.
I get that things break, but that’s not really a solution, especially in a store that’s meant to support people actually building things.
Overall, the staff felt disengaged and pretty uninterested in being helpful. Plenty of other places manage this better, so I’ll be taking my business elsewhere.

I really love this store. The staff are always so helpful and friendly. They have a great selection of product and price is reasonable.
☆☆Well I would not recommend buying there anymore.
They need to train their staff better. We bought some tile for our new kitchen and the girl told us, what we did not use, we could return it, but she neglected to tell us we had 90 days to return what we didn't use.
It was over the 90 days, and we went to return what we didn't use and they wouldn't even a Goodwill refund. We would have not bought it before the 90 days.

Always receive wonderful customer service at this store. I have never had to struggle finding the items I am looking for.

Rona itself is a complete joke. Their flunky gave me the wrong colour door 2 weeks ago and had to go out of town to work. Came home to install door to find out he gave me the wrong colour door. Went back to get the right colour door only to deal another incompetent employee that can’t even use scanner to find the right door. So I went online as I stood there only to find out and to let him know they don’t have any in stock. Did not have receipt but just wanted to have something to go to North end to get the right door. Have me a gift card with 80$ less than I paid for the door. Said really and they said it was policy. Came home and found receipt to get full refund and shop at Home Depot. Spend thousands there over the course of year and I will not be back after this. Good job Rona!!!! Keep up the good work!!!!

Staff are friendly, professional, helpful, very knowledgeable. The young man that assisted us with replacing our shower head with a combo wand was incredible. He even came to the cash desk to ensure that the item we bought that magnet strip was disable. Thats what we call going beyond

***Update at end of comment***This store has gone downhill! As a contractor this store has cost me more time and money waiting or wasting trips there than I care to calculate. Today’s adventure, I went in at 8 am to get 18mm birch plywood. Store employee tells me they have 112 shts on hand. Half an hour later they cannot find a single sht? So they lost 2 pallets worth of plywood? Just another of the many wasted trips to the worst lumber yard in red deer!
***update*** so I called the number provided in Rona’s response. I explained the situation and that I was replying to the response I received from Rona. The lady I spoke with said she had no idea what I was calling about and there was nothing she could do for me besides “submit a request”? She kept asking what I wanted and I tried to explain I was simply doing as asked and they should have a protocol to deal with this if I was told to call this number? Needless to say just another 10 min of my day that Rona plus in Red Deer has wasted.
