My girlfriend send me to get cat food with a link from the website for a bag of cat food that cost $36. I get up to the till and it rings up to $82. That poor cashier then had to explain to me that they don't honor the website prices and that a membership would knock the price down. No doubt having already been yelled at by multiple customers over the fact that the membership isn't actually going to knock the price down much, she tells me exactly how much the bag would be with the membership. $63. For the exact same bag on the website that costs $36.I feel so bad for the workers.This is no doubt one of the hardest parts of their job if not the hardest. What a terrible way to run a business. All this did was ensure I will never go back to that place. It's not 2005 anymore. If your website is difficult to use, if your prices is don't align with your brick and mortar, and you try and pull these bait and switch tactics that are not quite illegal but are definitely shady, people will just find somewhere else that doesn't try to gaslight you. Amazon exists.

I love taking my kids here for some snuggles with the animals. Just a nice place to go and see some pets. They have a awesome adoption program and a wonderful selection for all your pet needs.

Love their fish but plants very pricy still very good service and qualityfrendly staff very polite and always smiling looking to answer any questions u may lhave very knoledgable helpfull they will even check your water for free I like this store alot very clean and nice place

I had to find a staff member and push a little bit to get help. Once the staff were invested they were a great help. I was able to get a crate and a collar. The staff member carried the crate to the till and my vehicle for me. Which was very nice.

There is literally no staff on the floor. I walked around for 10 minutes looking for someone to get me an aquarium plant and couldn’t find anyone so I left.

I have been shopping at Petland here in Red Deer for quite some time now. Getting supplies for my birds is a regular errand that keeps a old guy like me busy.But I thought it was about time I do one of these google reviews. A very nice young lady, Chloe is her name, who is the manager of the small animal department has helped the past three times I’ve come in.Each time she has cheerily greeted me and helped me find what I need. She also always has tips on how to improve my bird cage. So helpful for a slow old learner like me.I will keep shopping here as long as I can. Hopefully Chloe will continue working here and running a ship shape bird department. She’s a very valuable and knowledgeable employee. Thanks Chloe.- George B.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - 5 stars

The staff actively avoid having to help anyone. We had picked a fish to purchase, but hadnt spoken to anyone yet. Two employees were standing 15 feet away, conversing with each other for 10+ minutes, while making eye contact with us, before ignoring us altogether, walking into the back room. The manager was passing by and offered help, even though she wasnt working. I feel the customer service will drive away most of the remaining business they have.

The staff is not as knowledgeable as they should be. The quality of the pet food as well as other pet items is not great. But the worst aspect is definitely the way the small live animals are stored. They are constantly being bothered by kids and in bad conditions. Which just makes them shy and scared therefore lezz likely to get a good home.

If I could have given 0 stars I would have. I was refused the purchase of 2 animals (hermit crab and scorpion) because it was “too close to close” I was in the store 30mins before close and then waited for 20mins for the staff to finish up with a beginner betta owner. I get it takes time. But it’s not my fault your store is understaffed. Also giving the reason that they arnt familiar with the care and first time bringing it in. So you have to make sure I know the care? Doesn’t make much sense. I already own both species and was willing to sign any paper saying I am liable as I live out of town so it’s not easy to come back. I thought customer service is first specially when the knowledge and care for the animal was there. Do to pure laziness I'm left with frustration and lie straight to my face saying we’re not refusing sale, when clearly you were. Do better…

The staff are very helpful and would give five stars ,but the prices are too expensive.The aquarium section has half of the fish they used to .And the fish are double the price of if they used to be .Better off going to Edmonton or Calgary .

Staff are always friendly and helpful they have a good selection of products for a good price! It's also always fun to see the animals, I can tell that the animal care itself has improved over the last few years.
