Every time I come into the store I am greeted with a "Welcome to Pet Smart!" The customer service is kind and helpful and the lady in the reptile section was very knowledgeable and gave me a lot of great advice for our geckos! Would choose this store over Petland any day!

Don’t waste your time with their walk-in services. For the second time in a row, I’ve arrived for a walk-in during their advertised hours, only to be told that the groomer left early and no one was available to provide any services. Better off to go somewhere else where they honour their posted hours.

This Pet Smart has the Monopoly on rude staff. Their customer service is the poorest I have ever seen. Their rudeness must be a cover for their lack of knowledge for the products and pets. I thought maybe it was Prt Smart policy to treat their customers like idiots till I was pleasantly surprised by the Leduc Pet Smart. Totally different environment. Finally got the most beautiful male canary from Leduc. Must have tried 10 times to buy one in Red Deer only to leave because no one would wait on me or because they were so rude and nasty I just left. Rudeness and nastiness runs ramped through the Red Deer store from the associates on the floor to the cashiers I did try talking to management and they were as rude as their staff

Great experience! I was able to (last minute) order my dog's food online when my local vendor did not receive my order. It was ready in less than 2 hours, and I was able to pick it up by 7 pm. Great service that works for a busy schedule. :)

We go here regularly when we’re out of town and need stuff for our pets. Always get the stuff we need, and the staff are very polite and helpful. Varied selection of pet supplies and actual pets. It’s kinda sad how the feeder fish are eating rotten, dead corpses to survive, but these guys are usually used to feed predatory animals, so it makes sense. Will be back!

I buy my dog food from here, clean store. Lots of selection. There are some reptiles, fishies, and cat adoption as far as purchasing "pets".

If i could give zero stars, I would.
Went to groom my dog for the first time, groomers told me appointment was at 2:00 when we were booked for 2:30. No call or nothing about it being moved. Then the person who booked me said i just needed the health booklet to prove she had rabies shot, brought it but then was told that it doesnt prove anything and needed another thing which we were not told to bring. Never gonna get any of my other dogs groomed here after this experience. Shame on you petsmart.

Friendly staff and great prices but poor care for some animals. Their gerbils look greasy, there’s little to no bedding and only one small house for 3+ gerbils. Anyone who works with rodents should know that gerbils needs at the very least 6 inches of bedding and frequent dust baths.

**Warning!!!**
Never let them express your dog's anal glands because they really don’t know how to do it. I had my dog groomed there last Saturday, and right after leaving, my dog was desperately trying to get rid of bloody discharge from his body. We were afraid and called his vet. They have been checking his excretions since Saturday, and his bum is still sore. The haircut was okay, but because they weren’t honest about what they did, I won’t trust them again.
