I want to preface this review by saying that I actually love SoftMoc and normally get excellent service at the Bower Place store, but I just had the worst customer service experience with SoftMoc. I placed an order for four pairs of sandals to be delivered to the store as I didn't want to pay for shipping. I do not live in Red Deer, so I wanted to wait for all four pairs to arrive in-store before picking them up. While waiting, I was sent notification that one of the pairs was "Ready For Pickup". By the time the final pair arrived at the store, this pair was showing as "Collected". Neither my husband nor I had picked up ANY of the sandals at this point. When my husband went in to pick up the sandals, the store manager tried to suggest that one of us had already picked up the pair that was showing as collected. Then she proceeded to tell him that there was nothing she could do about it and we'd have to contact customer service. I also spoke with the manager on another occasion about it and was told the same.
A couple weeks later, I finally got around to contacting SoftMoc customer service and was given the runaround. I should mention, these sandals cost a grand total of $17.84. I have not gotten the sandals and I have not gotten a refund. The woman I spoke with at SoftMoc customer service was completely condescending, repeatedly implied that I needed to calm down, asked me to repeat myself over and over again, and left me feeling like she thought we were trying to shake down SoftMoc. For $17.84. Because I have time for that kind of foolishness. In the conversation, she mentioned that the "collected" sandals have a signature, so I'm left to assume that these things were either given, for free, to some random customer or someone on staff decided to take them. They've already been paid for and I am now out $17.84 and a pair of sandals. I ended up hanging up on the condescending customer service rep, who by the way called me at work (I'm a teacher) after I told her I wasn't able to talk on the phone while teaching. I doubt I'll ever get any kind of refund for these sandals. I cannot for the life of me understand why this woman was fighting so hard to sleuth out this stupid situation for less than $20. Is SoftMoc hurting so badly for money that they can't say "our bad" (which it very clearly is) and just refund the $17.84?
Assuming I ever buy anything from SoftMoc again, I will absolutely NOT be paying up front to have shoes shipped to the store. I can't trust this business anymore. SoftMoc, your customer service is abysmal and you should be embarrassed.

Fahima absolutely nailed it with helping me to get not one but two pairs of shoes!! It was such a fast and easy going interaction she was so friendly and knowledgeable. Will come back just for the great customer service! (:

I bought a pair of moccasins yesterday in the Red Deer Bower Mall. Today I found a size smaller that fit better, and brought them to the till. The older woman went and found the box for them. I mentioned that the box says 8 instead of 6, and she says," oh I grabbed the wrong one by accident, I'll grab the 6 in a second." She returned the moccasins from yesterday(I had the box & receipt)and rang through the new pair. She CUT THE TAGS OFF THE MOCCASINS (on the other side of the till.) Than she handed me the receipt and the moccasins. NO BOX. I asked for the box and she said there wasn't one. I just looked at her, and I left. I realize now that if there is something wrong with the moccasins I can't return them. She made sure of that. Nasty woman. My family has bought many shoes here. We will no longer shop here as long as she is there. I don't recommend this store any longer.

I had boots to exchange with a bigger size and there was an old lady who refused to make any extra effort to help me because i lost the receipt even though I didn’t buy it from a long time ago she was so rude too. thanks to Eric for helping me out he was so nice and helpful excellent customer service

I understand loss prevention is an integral part of keeping a business successful but this felt like just flat out prejudice. My sister and I walk into this store, we are not greeted. We get dirty looks by the old short woman who probably should've retired years ago, not my fault you failed at life and continue to work despite clearly being miserable. The heavy set woman in a green cardigan that looked more like a blanket over her gigantic frame stared at my sister with a borderline creepy look on her face. The short austrailian man with the receding hairline and strawberry complexion was rather rude and dismissive. They greeted everyone else that entered the store except the two of us, who also just happened to be the only 2 brown people in the store. Very shameful. Also, to the woman in green, red is NOT a flattering hair color. Also, laughing at us as we left was hilarious, considering you give off the vibe of a woman who thinks she's cute and tiny, but in reality is massive and overbearing. I wouldn't doubt it if you make your coworkers uncomfortable without realizing it.

A recent incident with a competitor of this store made me realize how much I appreciate the sales associates, their return policy and how they stand behind their product. I have purchased a lot from SoftMoc in store and online and anytime there has been an issue I have never had any problems with them or their return policy. Services is always so helpful but at the same time not pushy. Staff are always kind and respectful. Thank you!

Disappointing that a store so largely known doesn’t have a better return policy. To only give exchange is so in the past… so many stores go above and beyond for their customers and this is NOT the case here

New store looks much better,, more room and dont feel claustrophobic anymore.much better selection,, thanku to the young man ‘eric ’ who helped me find good pair of winter boots so i dont slip and fall
