There was no automatic phone service to go through, which i appreciate alot. Customer service 6 stars, windshield looks good too..done in an hour.”

I called 30-40 transmission and diff shops before getting the touch with The Gear Centre. Each shop, I told them I had a truck with a bad pinion and I needed a new crown and pinion. I asked if they could sell it to me. Every shop I called said sure. They would ask what gear ratio I wanted, I'd say I'm looking for fuel economy, I see factory installed as low as 2.76. They would ask what I had. It didn't matter what I said I had, 3.23, 3.08, 3.73, every shop told me to install the same ratio I was replacing.
The Gear Centre asked me the same questions but it felt like they heard me. They still suggested keeping the same ratio I was replacing, but we're willing to discuss and speculate if other ratios might achieve my increased fuel economy goals. Moreover, without me asking, they shared tips and tricks to install components and extended far more courtesy then I have seen in the automotive sector. They had a willingness to work with me, a hobbyist to auto repair, and seem to welcome my business and my curiosity equally.
Most inspiring, I have made product inquiries and purchases from three folks on their team now, each one exceeded expectations. Thanks for consistently impressing.”

“We broke down, but were able to get our retro '93 badass diesel van to S&M Diesel and Automotive with a broken fuel line. Despite their busy schedule, they got to work on it first thing the next morning. They quickly diagnosed the problem and made a plan for repair. Due to the age of our van, the part needed to be express-posted from the States. They were on it immediately and installed the part as soon as it arrived.
We also asked them to check the muffler, which was rotted completely through. They sourced and installed a new one before we picked it up. Despite the emergency drop-off and their busy shop, they managed to fit us in and treated us expertly. The van was returned clean, and they provided a thorough description of the work performed in the notes, making everything easy to understand.
The service was friendly and courteous, and Tabitha even drove us to our hotel after we were stranded! I can’t recommend this shop enough and would even consider driving the 9 hours back for any future work on our vintage beast. Great job by everyone there, 10/10!”
