To start off, For the past few months there wood selection has been very poor, very warped. Second we went in for a valve for our hot water heater, got help from a member, told us the one we needed, seemed like he really knew what he was talking about, it was wrong, had to go back to get the proper one, but people do make mistakes. Thirdly we had gotten paint from them, a few times decided to paint our whole house, one time we went, ordered our paint, shopped around came back got it, went home, paint was not shaken, we had done a few projects around the house with a paint product, and had 3 VERY different opinions on the same product, all employees of Home Depot. So we’ve been alittle discouraged, but we went back, we saw a ceiling fan on for sale for a good price and thought why not, we hooked up the ceiling fan, the lighting on it sucked, it took a lower watt bulb, and only had one bulb. Whatever, had it for 3 weeks, and it stopped working, light wouldn’t go on, fan wouldn’t go on, the motor went in it, which it isn’t left on constantly so no reason it should have done that. Anyways, I call Home Depot, explain to them I did not have the box for it, nor did I still have my receipt, the man said “not a problem we can locate the receipt with your card and return it for you” I had asked if I needed to find the reference number on my statements or anything, he said nope. GREAT! 20 minutes later we go in the store, because I know have no lighting what so ever in my master bedroom. We wanted to limit our time at Home Depot due to COVID as well. Waiting in line, got to the customer service desk, told me there was nothing they can do for me. Called down the manager, the manager took 10minutes getting down to the desk, did not acknowledge us whatsoever, was flustered and was giving employees heck about some stuff in front of customers, not professional. Once she had pulled herself together to talk to me, she once again told me there was nothing they can do for me, after explaining I did not want a wasted trip, therefor I called and confirmed I could return it no problem before coming into the store, she said no that is not the case, and once again nothing she can do for me. Started to get frustrated due to the fact I had purchased a product that failed on me, called to do my due diligence before wasting my time, and employees. She seemed miserable, rude, and didn’t even try to assist me, or pull up a receipt they claimed they can do. She did not want to give me the time or day. I have not been satisfied with my service at Home Depot lately, but our trip today was the icing on the cake, I will avoid Home Depot now as much as possible, due to the lack of customer service, and the lack of professional advice we seem to have been getting lately from them. I think they need to definitely revamp some staff. Making sure they have knowledgeable, and customer friendly staff. I am fully aware people have their bad days, but the policies need to be known to all staff, and everyone needs to be on the same page when it comes to giving customers “expert” advice. Very disappointed with Home Depot.
