Was feeling a little lost in the store but one of the employees named Sakina was truly helpful and kind. Would go back to this location just because of her.

I normally don’t write reviews and understand that businesses can have off days, but my experiences at the St. Albert Mark’s Work Warehouse twice in one week was extremely disappointing.
There are very limited options for women’s trade and workwear in town, and when I’m spending hundreds of dollars, I expect basic customer service and assistance. I’ve shopped at Mark’s many times in the past for the men in my life without issue, but as a woman needing help myself, the experience was frustrating and unprofessional.
During my first visit, the store was disorganized, with clothing hanging off racks and items left everywhere. Multiple employees went into the back at the same time, leaving the floor unattended. When I finally found someone to help me locate pants I had seen online, the employee vaguely pointed and couldn’t find the item, even after looking it up. I ended up finding it myself.
On my second visit, I called ahead about women’s lined Helly Hansen work boots listed as in stock. The employee I spoke with was short and unpleasant, insisted on a SKU number, and agreed to put a pair on hold. When I arrived after work, nothing had been held. In store, staff again didn’t know where items were, even after showing photos, and I was left to find everything on my own.
While shopping, I had multiple items in my hands, placed clothing on the floor to try things on, and wasn’t offered a basket or assistance. At checkout, I overheard employees gossiping about customers who had walked out, which felt very unprofessional.
I left feeling upset and unappreciated after spending a significant amount of money. The women’s selection is already limited, and the lack of support made the experience worse. This location seriously needs improvement in organization, professionalism, and customer service.
I would encourage management to reinforce the importance of basic customer service: being approachable, helpful, and engaged with customers. A willingness to assist and a positive attitude go a long way, especially in a store where many customers rely on staff support to find the right products.
(My response to Mark who commented for me write to customer service - I already sent a more detailed email before I wrote this review)

Went in to get a face cover for how cold it's going to be. What I wanted was under a 30% off sign. Waited quite a while in line because there's only one cashier for a huge line. Come to find out, it's apparently not on sale. Walked out without buying anything. Horrible advertising. As someone who works retail, you should really watch where you're putting your signs. I doubt I'll be back after this.

Purchased 4 items. Two matching shirts at $39.99 each (that i assumed were part of a buy one get one 50% off), a pair of pants for $59.99, and a cardigan for $89.99.
Came to the store to return the pants, and the employee notified me that I would not be returned the full amount for the pants, because all items were part of buy one get one 50% off. But this discount was only applied to the shirts, which are the lowest priced items.
Employee and manager let me know that it would have been better to purchase on two seperate transactions, and the employee who originally rung me through should have suggested this.
I feel like this was deceitful on the original employees part, and disappointed on the unwillingness on the manager to rectify the situation. The manager agreed that the policy was silly. But to fix the situation, she could have returned all the items and re-rung them through for me this way.
The whole situation left a bad taste in my mouth, and I will just be returning all of the items now. Very disappointed that whoever rung me through the first time had no problem leaving this information out, and I only discovered that I was taken advantage of after I decide to take one item back.
Marks, do better.

I wasn't impressed, it says on their website that if you don't have a receipt for the items you bought they will take it back and put it on a gift card . I didn't even want that all I wanted was a different size and I was hassled about it and recieved no help now I'm stuck with stuff that doesn't fit and need to re purchase for stuff that does. If your not going to stand by what's in your policy then take it out.
