Very poor. Wouldn't return a toy purchased day before, because packaging want good enough.

I went to Mastermind Toys today with my little kiddo. We had two gift cards he had gotten as gifts. When we went to pay the cashier told me one of the gift cards was no longer allowed to be used. She stated there was a court order and she cannot accept blue mastermind gift cards and I should have now about this. She went on to explain notices were sent out, it was on the news and nothing she could do. I questioned that it is a legal tender and Canada has laws about gift cards never expiring and that they cannot be refused and she just shrugged her shoulders and refused it. I asked for a managers phone number because I would like to escalate this as a store cannot refuse a gift card (especially one that was less than a year old ). She said I can go online and find a number. I asked if she had any sort of documentation regarding this court required gift card use refuse and she said she didn’t.
So now mastermind toys won’t let me use the gift card and has unfortunately taken money and basically stole from its customers. The customer service is deplorable. I put a comment on Facebook for them to respond and they immediately deleted it as well. Shame on you mastermind toys. Don’t shop here!

Large store, quite a variety. 3 stars. Past experiences had been very positive. Today, I was asked to pick up a gift on the way to the airport and had 30 minutes to spare - lots of time. I prefer to buy local. As the only customer in the St. Albert store, the staff member was available to make this an easy sale if he had been interested. Amazon can deliver in a day so I'll order online next time rather than waste time hunting to find items,

This place is a local gem. If you can, shop and support local. The chain is suffering, likely because of losing market share to Amazon. Shopping on Amazon is like mailing money out of your community, never to see it again. Support local!

You are not able to return anything with solely a gift receipt! How are you able to return any gifts? They told me we needed the receipt but how would I have it for the gift I received. Really frustrating and dissatisfied dealing with them.

Always find just the right gifts at Mastermind Toys. Especially love the S.T.E.A.M. & crafts sections. The complimentary gift wrapping is just the cherry on top!

Great selection and fair prices. A little higher price than a big box store but can’t beat the selection. Staff was friendly and able to help me locate an item I was looking for in the store.

My son wanted a specific go kart which was not in stock at the time but was advertised on sale. Staff stated there was some in red deer but were unwilling to ship it to this store.Selection of Toys is good and organization is great.Pricing is on the more expensive side
