Attended a couple of tournaments at the store. Roy is the most personable venue owner/host I've come across. Tournies held here are on my 'must try and attend' list. Nice store with the usual supply of hobby essentials.

ThunderGround is great store to visit and arrange to have a game tournaments at. Roy the store owner is very friendly and super hospitable. We ran a Star Wars Armada Store Championship tournament there yesterday, all day, and it was such a good time! Roy has a great selection product and he really shows an interest in all facets of the hobby and moreover is committed to seeing his customers have fun! I will always make a habit of stopping by his store and will look to host and attend future games and tournaments there. You will not be disappointed by stopping in and experiencing ThunderGround for yourself!

I have known Roy for probably close to 20 years now. I have seen him go out of his way multiple times for A LOT of people. He has been not only a friend but I think in many aspects a community leader for young adults who need a safe place to hang out. He's not only generous with his time, but his store as well. Pleasure to continue to know you Sir! Hopefully I'll have some time to stop by for a visit again soon! Take Care!

I went in the other day, the person who was working there barely acknowledged my presence. I was looking to buy some Lorcana and singles for my commander deck and asked to have a few from the case and the worker was unfriendly and it seemed like a chore for him to get the cards I wanted. I asked if he had any lorcana in stock as my friend had bought 2 boxes from him the day before; he was rude and short to answer as if I wasn't worth his time. I paid for my cards and left unsatisfied and questioning my choices of entering this store and if my gender presentation has anything to do with my treatment. The reputation of this place definitely proceeds it.

Fantastic selection and Roy was a great source of information and painting advice. Highly recommended for your Warhammer 40k needs as well as other games/comics!

Staff were very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful! I plan to make this a must stop when visiting St. Albert on all future visits.

The store owner approaches you, welcomes you, and introduces himself. He's always trying to help you finish a mini, find a card, get a rulebook and is super welcoming to everyone. Out of the two main game stores in the St. Albert, his may not be the one that looks like a castle but Thundergound is definitely the king.

The definition of friendly local game store. It The kindness and generosity of the owner Roy is what drives the community he’s created. He shares so much of his time and energy with his customers - I walk in to look for something and see tables filled with gamers of various ages talking and laughing. Lot of positive energy here. Thunderground is a welcoming place, and should be anyone’s first stop!

I’ve been a proud customer of Thunderground since it’s been part of the St. Albert community. You will never find a nicer person than the owner Roy - he has time for everyone and is so patient explaining things about games or comics to youngsters. I can’t say enough good things about it - local comic book shops are a national treasure and this one is a St. Albert icon.

I have nothing but great things to say. When my mother and grandfather were in the city and pick up my pre order for me. Roy was nothing but kind to both of them. Considering my grandfather doesn't speak English.

I was curious about MTG in 2014-15, and have a new player-frequent perspective of the store.-First coming in was greeted and had all of my questions answered in a respectable way, never felt silly for not knowing something.-The recommendation he gave after we talked was spot on!-Great experience at every event I've been to. Even when there isn't many people there, Roy makes sure everyone has everything they need, and I've always had a blast.-Great added value with deals, store news and upcoming events! With a few random community building mini-events.-willing to literally sit there and teach newcomers! Long as there isn't a line-up at the time, he has always been willing to help me understand rules/mechanics of the game.THE COMMUNITY IS EXCELLENT.Everybody is respectful and always willing to help! And regulars are definitely well treated, but I've never felt like I've been ignored because I wasn't a regular you know?Appreciate the heck outta this place.
