The people working at the branch are wonderful. The problem is Royal Bank itself, the way they operate and try to automate everything. And don't even get me started RBC direct investing is.Can't get through to a real person on the phone. The "automated assistant" just goes around in circles, not helping, until it says "sorry I can't help, goodbye". If you can't manage to get through to the branch to actually talk to someone, it's incredibly frustrating.If an RBC public relations or Communications manager is actually reading this, you really need to allow branches to post a local phone number. By forcing everything through an automated system that runs in circles and is incredibly frustrating, it just turns people off banking with RBC.

I've been with RBC all my life and never had issues until dealing with this branch. I am appalled at the incompetent employee they have working there. I applied for a vehicle loan, submitted documents, and waited for a MONTH to hear back. Missed calls, unreturned voicemails, and an email didn't cut it. I finally got through to her, and she suddenly fast tracked the application process. I found out afterward that she applied me for a line of credit, which was never once brought up in discussion. Now, I have a hard credit check on my file, and not the money I asked for. She's a sorry excuse for a bank advisor and should never have been promoted to assistant manager. I filed a complaint with the branch manager, but he did nothing to remedy the situation. He simply made excuses for her. Terrible people to deal with.

So I had recently had a few negative interactions with this branch in Stettler that I had been dealing with roughly around 10 years. Back in 2018 I had a life event which was the worst time of my life. The legal actions took 1.5 years and of which I was proven innocent of. Yet this year on the 25th of October 2022 I was sent a letter that they are cancelling my banking relationship from a news article they seen from 2018. So they brought my worst time in my life right to the face again. I have nothing wrong with most the staff, yet was informed the event started by the manager. He most likely did this to me due to I made a complaint how they treated my overdraft. They wanted it paid off, which it was every payday, yet instead of calling, text or email they locked my bank card so I would have to go in. The accounts have now been closed and I recommend anyone considering RBC to choose more wisely.

I had to unfortunately deal with the manager from the stettler branch while he was helping in the red deer branch . He is VERY rude , do not waste your time going to RBC and dealing with the manager in anyway . He is not there to help clients . When trying to simply deposit my cheque and ask why all of a sudden my cheque was being held when it never has been he couldn’t give me a answer or cash the cheque for me . Pretty sad when I’ve even a customer for 10 years . And when I said I was going to leave RBC because I can never get any help he said to me do you think I want to help you when you say things like that …. Wow just wow . RBC is a joke and so are the staff .

The manager there is quite the character if you ask me. They took 2+ month to open our business bank account. Cassidi had never sent in the paper work.When i showed up to the branch to ask what was going on i was asked to leave the premises immediately. They didnt like the tone of my voice, i had my children with me at the time, no swears, no threats, a simple business meeting in my opinion. BUT, The manager made sure to ruin my name with RBC. All my accounts are getting closed now. I have been an RBC client for 18 years. I never had issues till i met the manager and Cassidi at the Stettler branch... to all the ladies at the front counter, thank you for the amazing support. Id give you a 5 stars.
