“I visited 3 liquor stores in Taber today. This was one of them. I carried a flyer from Wine & Beyond (a store in Lethbridge) because I was looking for 3 products that were in the flyer, and I was hoping to save a trip to the city to find them.Well, no luck. One product was not carried at any of the stores. The other two products were priced so far above the Wine & Beyond flyer that there was no way I would purchase them at any of these 3 stores. In one case it was 33% ($7) higher, in the other case it was 25% higher ($5) higher. The Taber stores had the same 2 items on sale, but at greatly inflated prices. So, here's my message, I often hear the chant "shop local", and I really try to check out the local stores and businesses,. Yet, when I see this level of price gouging, I find it very fifgicult to reward these shops with my money. So, when you are in the store looking for your cold beer, remember that they will continue to overcharge you if you continue to pay. No matter how much you complain.”
